Responsibilities:
As Civil Engineer & Acting Project Manager, coordinate all project activities throughout span of project life cycle within approved budget & as per construct ion program schedule, in line with defined Key Performance Indices-
•Prepare project execution plan for management review & manage approved scheduled work plan to achieve project deliverables and timeline objectives.
•Manage all contract related maintenance activities as per client specifications; ensure work execution at minimum costs and maximum profits while maintaining quality standards to sustain customer satisfaction level.
•Create team spirit in construction work activity; supervise a team of engineers & foremen in casting concrete for concrete tanks & concrete slabs in the project as well as track subcontractors work against schedule, & approve payments to suppliers & subcontractors.
•Estimate material & equipment resources for each project activity and optimize resources including manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure cost control.
•Assess costs against completed work through earned value, cost performance index & schedule performance index method to achieve the desired objectives.
•Enhance stakeholder relationships in dealings with clients & consultants, & represent company in meetings with regulatory authorities, including ministry of public work, ministry of electricity & water, & the municipality.
•Participate in the pricing of tenders and technical documentation for upcoming projects as required.
•Liaise with Health, Safety & Environment- HSE/ quality department & frame guidelines for project safety & quality manuals applicable for the organisation.
•Review contract conditions & documents & administer all project related issues in line with company’s policies & procedures to ensure timely receipt of payments from customers.
•Identify training needs and ensure skills and training development of manpower as per project requirements and support recruitment activities to source technically competent personnel for the project.
•Attend regular progress review meetings with site teams & subcontractors; prepare and submit the daily, weekly, & monthly performance reports.
As Project Engineer, spearheaded design & construction of new roads after technical discussion with consultants on methodologies of construction including slope level as per the set Key Performance Indicators-
• Reviewed and evaluated technical submittals and shop drawings, planned work execution, & arranged proper detours diversion and alternatives for out service roads.
• Estimated manpower, equipment, and material requirements for each activity and controlled project expenses to meet budgeted expenses in line with organisational forecasts.
• Provided look ahead schedules, allocated manpower/materials to complete construction/maintenance activity,
• and focused on steps to meet project timelines
• Ensured safety standard at project site, conformed to quality standard as per company guidelines, and met client requirements in accordance with contract requirements.
• Coordinated with procurement department to finalise contractor and sub contractor agreements in accordance with company procedures.
