Graduation Project: Textile Industry Technical School The project aims to create a link between school, industry, and community. It envisions an industrial educational project in a sustainable environment and to provide different services for the surrounding community. -Concept: The central idea was to challenge the existing typology of education building by creating a complex that integrates school and communal park in one harmonious entity, and that provides both an industry-based educational facility and a recreational green lung for the heavily urbanized city. Instead of having a large footprint on the ground floor, most of the built structure is elevated on concrete shear walls, separating the public activities from the private ones. Clear separation is achieved at the main vertical circulation elements, and at the school's main entrance. The volumetric composition consists of several linear elements that interlock and weave within each other, creating a continuous flow of movement within its floors. Main vertical circulation elements are located at the intersection of these buildings inside double height voids that emphasize the visual and physical connection between the different floors. Several community-serving rooftops and bridges penetrate these complex interlocking volumes highlighting the woven interaction between building and community. Graduation Project Grade: Distinction
