• Conduct daily site inspections of structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project
specifications, contract documents, Saudi Building Code (SBC), ACI, ASTM, and relevant international
standards.
• Monitor and inspect all structural activities including excavation, foundation works, raft foundations,
isolated footings, pile caps, retaining walls, shear walls, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, structural steel
works, and roof structures.
• Review contractor shop drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), material submittals,
and technical submissions related to structural works.
• Verify setting out, coordinates, levels, dimensions, and alignment of structural elements before
commencement of work.
• Inspect excavation works and ensure founding levels, soil conditions, and ground preparation comply with
geotechnical recommendations and approved design requirements.
• Witness and verify foundation inspections before concrete placement, including reinforcement installation,
formwork alignment, dimensions, cover requirements, embedded items, and anchor bolts.
• Ensure reinforcement works comply with approved shop drawings, bar bending schedules, spacing
requirements, lap lengths, development lengths, concrete cover, and detailing requirements.
• Inspect formwork systems for stability, dimensions, line, level, plumbness, cleanliness, and adequacy to
withstand construction loads.
• Verify installation and positioning of embedded items, sleeves, inserts, conduits, water stops, anchor bolts,
and builders work openings prior to concrete pouring.
• Witness concrete pouring operations and ensure compliance with approved mix designs, slump
requirements, temperature limitations, placement procedures, vibration methods, and finishing techniques.
• Inspect post-tensioning activities where applicable, including tendon installation, stressing operations,
anchorage systems, and grouting works.
• Monitor construction joints, expansion joints, and waterproofing interfaces to ensure compliance with
project specifications.
• Inspect fireproofing applications, corrosion protection systems, galvanizing works, and protective coating
systems for structural steel components.
• Verify that all structural materials including concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel sections, grout,
waterproofing products, and repair materials are approved before use.
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, quality procedures, and
project execution plans.
• Prepare and issue Site Observation Reports (SORs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Deficiency
Notices, and Corrective Action Requests for non-compliant works.
• Follow up on corrective actions and verify closure of NCRs and quality-related observations.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, MEP Inspectors, Quantity
Surveyors, and Contractors to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Participate in site meetings, technical coordination meetings, progress review meetings, and quality
inspections.
• Review and verify contractor requests for inspections (WIRs) and ensure inspections are conducted in
accordance with approved ITPs.
• Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, site diaries, photographic records, and quality documentation.
• Monitor structural repair works, remedial measures, crack repairs, concrete restoration activities, and
strengthening works where applicable.
• Inspect waterproofing interfaces associated with basements, retaining walls, roofs, wet areas, and
underground structures.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are maintained during structural construction
activities and report unsafe conditions.
• Support project handover activities by conducting snagging inspections, punch-list verification, and final
quality assessments.
