I was committed to advancing the rights of persons with disabilities, with a focus on deinstitutionalisation and inclusive community development. My work centres on empowering self-advocates, strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations, and supporting governments in implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This involves policy advocacy, capacity-building programs, stakeholder engagement, and the development of sustainable, community-based support services.
My role also includes managing project budgets, reporting, and monitoring the implementation of activities, as well as supporting members across the MENA region in planning and delivering various inclusion focused initiatives. Additionally, I participate in global and international working groups related to advocacy and support, contributing to the organisation’s strategic objectives and global learning efforts.
