Co-ordinate with Nominated Officer-Fire practical training exercises, drills and de-briefs to ensure those responsible for the safe evacuation of patients are competent to do so.
Deliver training sessions (practical and theoretical) to all staff to assist in ensuring that the objectives
Participate in the risk management audit process in order to identify areas of concern and non compliance, using the approved risk assessment procedure for identifying the degrees of risk

Assist in the preparing of an annual report of the current state of fire safety in all premises and the completion of the certificates of Ministry of Health compliance.
Plan examinations with Design and Projects Staff and the ROP Civil Defence commenting on the fire precautions needed for new buildings and alterations to existing buildings.
Liaise with Nominated Officer - Fire in preparing annual training programmes.
Assist Managers/Head of Departments in the development of local fire procedures.
Monitor the adequate provision, siting and effective maintenance of all fire fighting equipment, alarm systems, fire safety signs, notices etc.
As fire advisor respond to fires and give professional advice to staff and ROP Civil Defence

• Respond to fire emergencies by applying proper Fire fighting techniques needed to extinguish fires.
• Minimise distress and suffering, including giving first aid before the ambulance crew arrives and ensure safety at all times.
• Dealing with unforeseen circumstances as they arise; think and respond quickly to fire accidents.
• Clean up and check the site after dealing with an incident.
• Familiarize with local streets, roads and buildings and nearby fire stations in order to respond to emergency calls with the utmost speed and efficiency.
