I am the project manager of an Avian breeding center, which aims to produce Houbara Bustard birds.
Nature of work:
• Personal and direct involvement in the training process of new staff members. The training process includes: proper handling of the houbaras, daily feed and drink rations, hygiene and biosecurity, egg collection, artificial insemination, egg incubation and hatching, chicks and juveniles rearing.
• Overseeing the coherence of workflow throughout the different production phases.
• First hand supervision of protocols implementation: Biosecurity, breeding and rearing.
Nature of work:
• Daily veterinary monitoring and supervision of the welfare of wildlife animals and birds.
• Supervision of the breeding protocols for Arabian oryx, Arabian sand gazelles, and Ostriches.
• Surgical/medical intervention for disease treatments or fractures.
• Seasonal field vaccination sessions for the Arabian oryx.
• Creation of biosecurity measures to protect the herds from pathogens such as Brucella. These measures were conformed by the Ministry and subsequently applied on a national level in the natural reserves.
• Creation of practical field plans to develop the historical Sheehaniya wildlife reserve, and upholding the communications with the administrative services in order to provide a sustainable and regular maintenance program.
• Submission of regular weekly and monthly veterinary reports
• Active participation in technical committees all year long to issue
Nature of work:
• Supervision of the department to reach the yearly goals.
• Optimal communication with the suppliers to ensure a smooth and punctual delivery of our orders that conforms with the requirements of the local market in Russia.
• Elevation of team spirit
Nature of work:
• Supervision of Houbara breeding and release programs.
• Daily veterinary monitoring of the birds wellbeing. Surgical/Medical
intervention in case of disease treatments or fractures.
• Personal field application of artificial insemination protocols: Artificial Insemination of females, eggs'
incubation, chicks' rearing.
Nature of work:
• Promotion of veterinary pharmaceuticals and disinfectants to major livestock holdings.
Nature of work:
• Carried out routine health checks, administering necessary vaccinations and providing additional wellbeing advice.
• Monitored animal health to assess progress and changes while under care.
• Periodical animal vaccination against: Enterotoxaemia; Pasteurella, Anthrax, PPR, FMD, and Pox. Additionally, conduction of periodic prophylactic measure against external and internal parasites.
• Supervision of newborns health condition and proper weight gain.
Nature of work:
• Carried out routine health checks, administering necessary vaccinations and providing additional wellbeing advice.
• Diagnosed and treated animal diseases, injuries and dysfunctions of horses and small animals.
• Performed surgical procedures and follow-up to support animal recovery.
