The Medical Services Department provides in-house primary and secondary healthcare services to the staf and registered staf dependents of the Central Bank of Nigeria. It also outsources services from approved retainer hospitals.
I worked in various capacities across Nigeria in this department. I rose from a medical oficer to a deputy director. I was Head Clinical Services in 2019, Head Zonal Coordination Division in 2021, Head Diagnostic and Treatment Center Kano in 2022 and Head Bauchi Zonal Medical in 2023.

• Ran antenatal clinic and developed an efective referral system for high-risk pregnancies, reducing maternal mortality rate to less than 1%.
• Achieved 95−100% coverage of corporate immunization and COVID-19 vaccination.

Reason for leaving: Early exit due to change of leadership that came with an avalanche of disengagements, what I call political restructuring. It was not due to poor performance.

• Rotated through the four major departments of Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Surgery. I was supervised by Prof. Chibueke Haggai Njoku, Prof Hamid Ahmad, Prof Bissallah Ahmed Ekele and late Prof A. O. Badejo, respectively.
Achievements
• Exposed to a wide range of cases and complicated cases from Nigeria and the neighboring Niger Republic.
• Managed cases of eclampsia, ruptured uterus, obstructed labor, VVF, RVF, complicated abortions with even perforated uterus and small bowel prolapse.
• Got excellent reports and recommendations from my supervisors.
• Stood out among my colleagues and the comment that beats my imagination was by Prof Ekele where he said that I was an ideal candidate for postgraduate training.
