Produced Design and Network planning of Vodacom Business Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) Network using Cambridge Wimax base station equipment. This network currently has over 3000 Wimax CPEs parented to it.
● Produced solution diagrams and service description document of a proposed solution.
● Maintained database of Vodacom core network diagrams and ensured that all core network diagram are up to date.
● Performed RF Planning and Optimization of microwave transmission network using ICS telecoms and Pathloss planning tool.
● Performed frequency assignments by using efficient frequency reuse pattern that will enable VBN fully utilize frequency allocated by the regulator.
● Produced Link budget analysis for point to point, point to multipoint microwave links.
● Performed coverage calculation for the Cambridge Wimax base station using ICS telecom tool and ensured that VBN customers and potential customers are properly covered.
● Analyzed drive test results for each base station to ensure that design objective for coverage and network quality are achieved.
● Assisted product development team in the development of the Vodacom Business
enterprise voice solution
● Supported sales team and Solution Architects with customer Wide Area Network design diagrams and cost of equipment while responding to customers Request for Proposal or Major tender.
● Produced design of Vodacom SDH transmission network using 3rd party fiber, NEC, SAF, Creagon, Sia and Stratex. Microwave radios
● Produced Monthly Availability report on Cambridge Wimax stations.
● Performed site selection based on coverage area, frequency plan and geographical location.
● Support field and level 2 engineers on RF interference related issues, such as interference and coverage related issues.
Installed and integrated customer access circuits such as SAF, Creagon, and NEC Point to Point Microwave licensed radios and Cambridge Point to multi-point microwave radios are within link budget design values. Improving services reliability and experience.
Ensured online support to customers with faulty access circuits was done before deployment to site reducing mean time to restore (MTTR) on faults.
Performed root cause analysis of failed access equipment at customer location and made recommendations on ways to mitigate future failure, reducing the number of failed circuit and improved service availability.
Performed preventive maintenance on Gateway core nodes and customer access Links.
Assisted in the integration of Gateway business services to the customer network by configuring and installation Customer edge nodes such as cisco routers, switches, Wireless access points etc
Simulated complex custom solution in gateway business operations lab before deployment to customer sites and ensured that deployed solutions are within the customer design documents.
Performed end to end testing of the provisioned service before hand-over to the customer
