- Design & Review of Mechanical Drawings not limited to Fire Protection, Plumbing and HVAC according to project requirements & Authority Approval.
- Prepare engineering design calculations that support the project specifications and standards.
- Perform site inspection and attend coordination meetings as necessary to ensure overall compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
- Actively taking part as a Consultant in Civil Defense Department (QCDD) inspections and submission of related documents for approval.
- Design & Review of Fire & Life Safety Plan complying with NFPA & Local Fire Safety Standards for AHJ approval (Qatar Civil Defence Department - (QCDD)).
- Closely working with Architect to ensure that Building Plan complies with NFPA & QCDD standards.
- Design & Review of Fire Fighting and ACMV (Air‐conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation Plan) for AHJ approval (QCDD).
- Inspects site for work/installations and ensures that the carried out works are in accordance with the contract drawings and AHJ Regulations.
- Perform inspection and testing of buildings active fire protections systems i.e. Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting and Smoke Control Systems to make sure that it adheres to requirements of NFPA & AHJ Standards.
- Prepare non‐compliance report for contractor’s rectification.
- Review Test Reports, Material Submittal & Shop Drawings submitted by the contractor.
- Upload in Online Portal System (Building Permit System) all the documents necessary for AHJ (QCDD) inspection.
- Attend AHJ (QCDD) inspection making sure that site are well prepared.
- Participate in design review with other department.
- Work closely with the design team and report project status to the project manager.
- Present design proposals/solutions to client
- Drive and support value engineering activities.
- Reviews design for compliance with relevant design standards and marketing needs.-
- Conduct stress, tolerance and detail analysis of mechanical parts/components.
- Reviews and reports project status against the schedule during the development cycle.
- Helps train and direct support personnel as required.
- Does research into new applications/methods as required.
- Receives job instructions from NKC Japan or NKC of America through physical or net meeting, or through e‐mail.
- Participate in initial project planning by attending meetings with senior engineers, or accompanying senior engineers to the project site for field check.
- Make assembly drawings of mechanical equipments; make layout or assembly drawings of support structures; make assembly or installation manuals for the installation process.
- Make part drawings out of assembly or layout drawings, providing all part details and dimension for fabrication.
- Calculate chain tension, weight of parts or equipment, and stresses of conveyor structures.
- Communicates constantly with colleagues, and with senior engineers in Japan or USA through e‐mail or telephone throughout the project period.
- Makes project schedules and progress reports.
- Studies Japanese lessons to improve communication and break the language barrier between NCP and Japanese engineers.
