I had got honors to computerize the industrial city point to
point. There were 40 RC remote offices, and each remote site was directly linked to the central
RC site through MOPTT leased lines. High grade Racal-Milgo modems and multiplexers were
utilized at central as well as remote sites to work well on leased lines. Each site were made to
support maximum of 16 computer devices involving running cables. At central site all modems
and multiplexers were grouped in a Racal-Milgo
cabinets and leased lines were hosted to each of them in a very professional manner using the patch panel to minimize the down time for a failed site. Each central site cabinets
were made to acquire at least 8 pair of such modems and multiplexers with a total of 10 hosting cabinets accommodating 80 pair of multiplexers and modems. Two cabinets were dedicated for HP3000 central system connections and rest of 8 cabinets were made to accommodate connections of Prime P850. All five P850 systems async lines were carried to these cabinets and connected to the channels of these muxes and also serial ports were connected to the channels of these muxes. DB25 and RS232 connections were utilized for the communication ports. Remote location multiplexer and modem were kept at a fixed locations and cables were run to each user offices which were not less than 40 meters in most of the cases. The whole city of Yanbu Al_Sinaiyah was organized and connected . Time to time I had been visiting RC Yanbu Industrial college and RC Medical center to resolve their own computer related problems. Also I had extended my support to HP3000 system networking and I had been attending PC problems as well. I had emulated and connected several PC's to the central computer.

Procured worth of 14 millions of IT standard computer items in 20 year by utilizing budget allocation during the Project Management period.
Well planned, designed and implemented TCP/IP class C and class B on thicknet as well as Fiber media as existing today at RC Yanbu, Configuring Routing between segmented LAN and WAN with precision precision performance monitoring and IP expansion without bottlenecks. Full incharge for allotting IP addresses and protocols for the new nodes on the network. A remarkable achievement and self satisfaction.
Introducing Wireless network to connect all RC remote offices access points making the network more faster, redundant and reliable.
Segmenting thicknet backbone to cover entire RCHQ and GIS offices and adopting thinnet backbone in 1995, Communicating and modeling client/server architecture and upgrading network to adopt Fiber media and migrating all nodes on Fast Ethernet backbone, Diagramming the network layout and managing them using Hp Openview Network Node Manager and Foreview, Novell Managewise 2.0, MS SMS 1.2, Compaq Nettelligent management software.
In 1992 chip level modification was done for all existing old character based devices for a total quantity of 675 to communicate under new Unix environment saving worth millions for RC and preventing FMS to the Contractor which was highly appreciated by both sides.
Rendered chip level fixing to all data communication devices for more than 15 years cutting down maintenance cost which was highly appreciated by both sides.
Installed and configured multi vendor Intel/Unix platforms including Sun Solaris, Novell Netware, Windows NT Backoffice Servers, Windows 2000 Advanced Server and TCP/IP LAN/WAN systems to suit customer site requirements. Highly appreciated by both sides and considered as a key personal of the project.
Computerized the whole Yanbu Industrial city since 1985, connecting and cabling 40 remote offices collapsing to the RC Central Office, communicating remote applications to the Central System using MOPTT leased lines and high grade Racal-Milgo data communication network, phasing out in timely manner and adopting TCP/IP based Fast Ethernet network on thicknet as well as Fiber media.
Developed Master Equipment (MEL) database using Prime Information and recorded all equipment Tag numbers reflecting their location versus department. It has been used since 1985 and only source to pin point computer equipments inventory validated all times when equipment relocated/installed. Now porting to Oracle database using Developer/Designer tools.
Programmer level Oracle certification by Oracle Saudi Arabia.
Trained and certified on Informix by Jeraisy Computer Services.
Developed User Service Call desk database on PI Open to record user problems validating RC Tags, used widely even today, responded calls are recorded and updated every time after fixing the problem, keeping record history of equipment failure for more than 10 years and attributed cause of error and correction with date and time facilitating future reference. This database have been very helpful in finding out how many times an equipment failed and what repair was made.
