FF&E Designer / Interior Designer

FF&E Designer: Sheikha Shayma Villa - Residential Project

- Discussed with the client all her needs in terms of materials, lighting, carpet colors, sanitary choices, gypsum designs and more.
- Advised the client on suitable and more aesthetically pleasing options in terms of design and FF&E options.
- Hand selected all sanitary ware, paint colors, ironmongery, wood finishes, curtain designs and fabrics.
- Prepared all the necessary cut sheets for all items such as furniture, lighting, carpets, curtains, marbles, wood finishes, gypsum, paint, sanitary and ironmongery for the entire project.
- Dealt with sub-contractors to get various samples of marble and gypsum.
- Held internal meetings with the project manager, lead designer and procurement regarding the budget reports and site progress.
- Created progress reports for the FF&E in terms of what was completed, the selections that were approved, what areas are pending, what is ready for delivery etc.

FF&E Designer: Other Residential Projects

- Handling the Mis En Demeure Showroom and discussing various design and furniture ideas with walk-in clients.
- Selecting all the required FF&E items for all residential projects.
- Assisting my colleagues in the Residential and Commercial departments with any suppliers they may need for their on-going projects such as: custom made carpet suppliers, furniture and lighting brands, gypsum contractors and so on.

Lead FF&E Designer: Ithaafushi Island Maldives (Operated by Waldorf Astoria) - Hospitality Project

- Selected all furniture, lighting, sanitary, fabrics and finishes for all areas in the hotel such as Villas, Restaurants, Retail & Services, Public Toilets, Spa, Kids Club and more
- Coordinated with the Lead Designer and Project Manager one-on-one on design aspects and requirements.
- Coordinated directly with the technical team with regards to plans, sections, elevations, dimensions, and window and door schedules.
- In charge of checking sections and elevations for size accuracy in terms of all ceiling and lighting fixtures.
- Responsible for checking all FF&E codes and measurements on all project layouts.
- Attended meetings with Waldorf Astoria to discuss FF&E requirements
- Fully specified all Furniture, Lighting and fabrics in strict accordance with Waldorf’s standards and requirements.
- Contacted suppliers and manufacturers for catalogues, fabrics samples and finish samples and was in charge of signing them off for approval or rejection once received.
- Created all presentation boards using images of all FF&E items, fabrics and finish samples for presentation to the client and Waldorf Astoria.
- Created a complete material index for all furniture, lighting and finishes used in the project divided into areas of the project
- Responsible for checking and correcting my team’s work before officially submitting.
- In direct contact with the team in Maldives for any queries on their side and to assist with any additional information they may need regarding the FF&E.
- Created an FF&E Preamble Index specifically for this project for the suppliers and manufacturers reference that included all the requirements and standards of Waldorf Astoria and fits a hospitality project.
- Used Specsources Program to generate the cut sheets for the entire project.

FF&E Designer: Bu-Theilah Farm (The Royal Family) - Residential Project

- Selected the Furniture, lighting, finishes, fabrics and sanitary items for all buildings.
- Coordinated with suppliers and manufacturers directly for finish samples, fabrics, catalogues and additional information for sanitary ware.
- Was responsible for checking all sections and elevations and to assure the measurements specified were correctly indicated on all layouts.
- Coordinated with the technical team in regards with FF&E codes, dimensions, layouts etc.
- Created over 80 unique presentation boards for all areas of the project which included all FF&E items for client approval.

Lead FF&E Designer: Meriekh Compound - Commercial Project

- Coordinated with the Lead Designer one-on-one for a better understanding of the project in terms of budget and selection requirements.
- Responsible for selecting all furniture, lighting, fabrics for the nine different units in the project and taking into consideration the three different budget requirements (low, medium and high) which required a selection of various brands and suppliers to work with to fit the required budget.
- Created the completer Client presentation that included all aspects of the FF&E such as furniture, lighting, sanitary, kitchen appliances, equipment, gym equipment, fabrics and finishes selection.
- Directed the team in creating detailed schedules for all items with consideration to the three different budgets to present to the client.
- Assisted with the presentation boards that were to be presented to the client

FF&E Designer: Al Khor Classical Palace (VIP Client) - Residential Project

- In charge of checking and correcting all the specifications of all Furniture and Lighting only.
- Coordinated directly with the designer for all the finishes and was to check all areas with the team.
- Selected the fabrics for two main villas in the palace.

Free Lance at Free-Lance

- Designed a four bedroom private residential apartment in the heart of Cairo.
- Independently produced all the technical drawings for the entire space as well as the 3d modeling for client viewing and approval on the concept.
- Custom designed some of the key furniture pieces in the space such as the closets in all the bedrooms.
- Assisted the client with selecting all the finishes such as marble, ceramic, wood finishes and paint.
- Selected all the furniture, lighting, sanitary ware, kitchen appliances and ironmongery for all the areas as well as the fabrics.
- Coordinated on site with the supervisor and the workers to insure design accuracy and over see every aspect.

Junior Designer (Part Time) at Pagani Perversi Architects

- Worked mainly on Product Design project
- Assisted the team in the developmental phase and the design process by producing preliminary sketches and rough drawings
- Produced all technical drawings such as plans, sections and elevations and the 3D renderings using technical programs
- Produced a 1:1 scale mock-up of various products and studied the possible finishes that best fit the brief
- Worked directly under the Head Architect on a lighting project and drafted some rough designs for the idea and later created a 1:1 scale for testing purposes.
