Managed multiple projects during design & execution, including planning, contractual agreements, claims, coordination with stakeholders, follow up with local authorities, dealing with designers, consultants, contractors and suppliers, while applying value engineering and budget reduction strategies throughout the duration of the projects wherever applicable (achieved 5%-10% reduction in some projects).

* Central Plant (CP5): A high-end Central Plant (40, 000 Tons Refrigeration), serving District Cooling chilled water, fire fighting, irrigation and potable water services. Budget reduced by 5% through value engineering, utilizing alternative materials and modifying controls (such as canceling soft starters) with cost effective solutions.

* Junction N-20 (Road, Utilities & Storm Water): Three projects worth US$ 25m in one; 1) Road Junction N-20 involving QF Tram crossing with Ashghal road, 2) Building a 1.6km west road while extending underground MEP services and 3) Connecting storm water lines with Ashghal's network utilizing normal and micro-tunneling excavation. Budget reduced by 10% using alternative materials and applying value engineering, optimizing road sections and using stored Ashghal light poles.

* MEP Upgrade for multiple existing buildings: completing design and obtaining Civil Defense approval (QCDD) for five existing educational buildings, building up Tender and studying renovation strategies for the execution plan.

* Miscellaneous design projects: Traffic Impact Study, Two Pedestrian Underpasses and an R.O. Plant with ZLD technology to treat 20, 000m3/day of treated sewage effluent for irrigation and District Cooling chiller makeup water.

* HBKU Research & Development Complex (RDC): Finalizing a US$ 440m mega research and labs facility and obtained MME Building Permit approval.

* South East Car Park project: Finalizing a US$ 180m multi-storey high-end car park (3, 200 lots) and obtained QCDD approval. Project in handover stage.

* Partially handled QF Tram and Site-Wide SCADA projects for 7 months as a temporary replacement until alternative PM's were appointed.

MEP Manager / Projects Director at Harinsa Contracting Co.

Participated in starting up the company in Qatar, helping in interviewing, appointing staff and Tendering in the main office apart from assisting PM's in other projects (Bin Smeikh 46 storey 5-Star Hotel & a Labor Accommodation). Involved with a legal dispute case for the company in the Qatari courts -which was won- helping the company lawyers.

* MEEZA MV2 Data Center Project in Um Qarn for Qatar Foundation: A modern high-end multi-hall data center with multi aisles arrangement worth US$ 100m. Site Power of 15MVA peak load and average Rack Power of 4.25 kW/rack, that achieved LEED Platinum Certification from USGBC and Tier III Certified from Uptime Institute. The Project hosts VIP client servers including MOI, Central Bank of Qatar, QP and others.

* MEEZA MV3 Data Center Project in QSTP for Qatar Foundation: A modern data center with multi aisles arrangement worth US$ 30m . Site Power = 4.5MVA peak load and average Rack Power = 8 kW/rack (12 kW/rack maximum). The project includes the reuse of an existing building (car park) for the data hall to meet sustainability LEED Golden Certificate and Tier III Certified. It currently hosts high-end client servers (like Vodafone).

* ABM Military College (PEO): I was the MEP Manager for this US$ 55m project which included a multi-storey education building (3, 200 m2) and Sports Facilities (small soccer stadium, sport courts & military training obstacle course), managing MEP works, design reviewing, as well as handling MEP subcontractor. The Client requested us to modify some MEP systems (HVAC, LPG, Fire Fighting), since the original Designer was removed from Project. I was eventually appointed as the Project Manager.

* Bilal Plaza Luxury Residences (AHB): A multi-storey building hosting 29 luxurious apartments worth US$ 9m. I managed the Project for a year until I was asked to move to manage ABM Military College.

MEP Project Manager at Arab Construction & Contracting Company

Managed mechanical installations (HVAC, Sanitary, BMS, Steam, LPG, Fire Fighting, Pools, Jacuzzis & Hydrotherapy Beds), appointed engineers & staff, supervised the study of drawings, submittals design reviews and electro-mechanical coordination. Also handled material orders, quantities, labor, invoices, variation orders, client contract issues, subcontractors, planning for the following projects:

* Holiday Inn 5-Star Hotel: With a capacity of 200 rooms & 120 chalets on the Dead Sea Shore with a total electro-mechanical value of US$ 13m (07/2006 - 02/2008). In addition to my main role, I was assigned (by the Client) to lead the redesign of some HVAC systems, main kitchen water supply and steam systems. Applied value engineering to the commissioning & handover process (introducing dynamic regulating valves allowing faster balancing and commissioning).

* Abu Ghazaleh Luxury Residences: Two luxurious residences with a total area of 15, 000m2 and a total electro-mechanical value of US$ 6m (04/2005 - 02/2008). Redesigned and altered some specifications and materials to enhance the ID aspects of some MEP systems.

* Contributed in Crown Plaza 5-Star Hotel, Queen Alia Heart Institute & King Husain Grand Mosque: Finalized these projects by providing support for to resolve overdue pending works and snags for final the discharge certificate (delayed for over a year).

* Queen Rania Kidney Center: With a capacity of 70 rooms & an electro-mechanical value of US$ 2m - we handed over on time after being 2 months late (01/2004 - 01/2005).

* Participated in the following projects during and after the above project: Jordan University Hospital - Emergency Building (Area = 6, 000m2 & US$ 1.5m electro-mechanical cost), Queen Rania Handicap Center (Area = 4, 000m2 & US$ 1.5m electro-mechanical cost), Jordanian National Museum (Area = 10, 000m2 & and US$ 3m electro-mechanical cost). I was also the lead role involved with the ISO-9000 Certification for the company organizing standardization sheets, method statements in addition to drafting processes and procedures.

I designed special duct runs and special copper decorative air outlets to the request of the Client representative.

Began as site engineer and was eventually promoted up to senior mechanical engineer then became in charge of "Sefri Ingenieros S.A." (Mechanical Project Manager) for the last two years. Managed mechanical works (HVAC, Sanitary, BMS, Fire Fighting, Steam and LPG Systems) and was involved in the study & preparation of shop-drawings and submittals and managed material orders, labor, quantity surveys, invoices, variation orders and planning for:

* King Abdullah University Hospital: A large hospital with a capacity of 800 beds (up to 1000) and an overall area of 100, 000m2 (including car parks) with a US$ 120m cost of which US$ 22m were mechanical works. Began during the first stages up to handing over of the project, then spent a one year maintenance/warranty period during which I contributed with financial claims for the company. We redesigned the heating distribution system from basic to reverse-return to improve performance and facilitate balancing, and provided multiple solutions and upgrades as the hospital was originally designed back in 1977 and was extensively upgraded during construction.
