Senior Design Manager
Based on site assisting the contractor on the $1 Billion Cultural Centre (Theatres Site) consisting of four iconic buildings. A Theatre, Music Centre, Conference Centre and Library.
Design coordination role between sub consultants, various SSH disciplines including shell and core implementation and intervention with sub-contractors assisting them in production of their shop drawings.
Responsible for the on site Design team consisting of 25 personnel and providing a key link to contractor and Design Team.
Based on site working for the contractor on a $1.2Billion New Children’s Hospital.
Design supervision role overseeing the Interior Designers, Wayfinding and RDS process to reasonably minimise cost and programme risks associated with the design.
Also FF&E Manager liaising with the States (client) representatives and chairing Design Team Meetings.
Based on site working on $2.4Billion (7 Star) Sidra Medical Research Facility.
Construction supervision role liaising with Director of Interiors including client bodies and site team. Advising on constructability, selecting materials and finishes and ensuring compliance of contract requirements.
Answering RFI’s, checking shop drawings and performing site inspections.
Design Coordinator for an $800 million Shopping Mall. Co-ordinated with M&E and structural consultants and liaised with site managers. Providing technical support in the co-ordination of drawings from M&E Services Dept. and liaising with the contactor on site. Preparing and supervising the preparation of drawings using CAD. Supervising drafters and technicians on the architectural team to comply with CAD protocols and monitor and inspect work done by others. Participate in management meetings & contribute to corporate objectives as delegated. Also involved in Phase 2 of the design stage of the $1.5Billion Kingdom of Sheba Hotel complex on the Palm Jumeirah coordinating structural elements of the design changes with structural engineers. Producing design layouts for the hotel to conform to local legislation.
