- Singlehandedly started the electronics category (Telecom + Consumer Electronics) for one of the most successful ecommerce startups in the Middle East region.
- Define the category development strategy and roadmap for the region based on market trends, competition, new launches and new technologies.
- Work with content, marketing, operations, finance, logistics, customer service teams and suppliers to make sure that the company stands ahead of competition in all areas.
- Sales crossed USD 5mn in just 8 months of launch. On-boarded 50+ suppliers and cataloged 7000+ SKU’s within the first 3 months of launch.
- Recruited and trained a team of 5 buyers and 1 merchandiser to support the growth of the category; designed KPI’s for the team.
- Launched the retail division of mobiles and tablets category which was started to complement the traditional marketplace business model of the company.
- Defined the retail strategy, product selection and road map to have direct control on customer experience.
- Worked with content, marketing, operations, finance, logistics, customer service teams and suppliers to make sure that the customer experience is better than the competition.
- Owned sales and assortment targets, crossed marketplace revenues of mobiles and tablets category in just 5 months of launch. The category revenues had reached USD 7mn at the time of leaving the company.
- Managed the business development of various brands of Tablets and Telecom accessories for 300+ retail outlets of the company across the gulf region.
- Defined planogram and product selection for each stores based on sales analysis and targets.
- Involved in product selection and identifying new brands that can improve the revenues and profits for the company.
- Worked with sales, marketing, logistics, finance, customer service teams and suppliers to ensure right product availability, target achievement and good customer experience.
- Managed the business development of various brands of watches in the Middle East region.
- Liaised with suppliers based in Hong Kong and Switzerland on product selection, availability, pricing, new launches and marketing campaigns across 50+ retail stores and duty frees.
- Managed the product lifecycle for the region based on regional trends and plans by brand owners.
- Partnered with the various IT & ITES companies for providing effective staffing & training solutions.
- Successfully gave presentations on the benefits of acquiring SPEED’s services.
- Met the technical heads of client companies to understand the various staffing requirements.
