Procurement - Employee Benefits Category Lead at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Middle East)
  • United Arab Emirates - Dubai
  • My current job since November 2019

The Role:

Leading the end-to-end placement, maintenance and ongoing development of PwC’s Employee Health & Benefits and Wellness strategy across all 12 operating countries within the Middle East firm.

Personal Achievements:

• Renewed the firms’ $20m+ regional & local Health & Life Insurance policies around 18% below budget, clawed back $1m in premium due to policy performance, and enhanced at least 2 benefits on each of the medical policies.
• Standardised the health claims reporting for all 12 countries (2 regional policies placed in UAE, 1 placed in KSA, and 1 in Egypt) to allow for the development of a regional benefits and wellness strategy and more accurate annual budget setting. Policies placed locally in Lebanon & Palestine were deemed unsuitable for this effort.
• Provided the content for a chatbot produced to automate the servicing of general queries from the business regarding both the insurance programme and corporate credit card scheme.

Client Relationship Manager at Marsh Emirates Insurance Brokerage
  • United Arab Emirates - Dubai
  • May 2018 to November 2019

The Role:

To own and be accountable for Marsh’s local relationship with around 30 of their multinational clients, ensuring sound strategic consulting advice, and hitting the new/expanded business target.

Personal Achievements:

• Successfully managed, renewed & expanded the $1.6m of Marsh revenue under my care.
• Helped clients to understand the fundamentals of insurance, and how having a 3-5 year strategy based on data and market factor analysis is far more sustainable than mere “transactional broking” based on today’s price alone.
• Hit my one and only sales/expanded business target after it was introduced for 2019

Keeping myself in increasingly good shape is a big part of my life. Some may call it vanity but I put a lot of emphasis on my physical appearance.
