Key Responsibilities:
• Planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the activities of companies or departments responsible for coordinating and arranging the transportation and movement of goods.
• Determining sales targets, monitoring the revenue for cross functional teams as well as appraising team performance to ensure they are provided with the requisite sales tools to achieve targets.
• Administering all freight forwarding operations encompassing-customs clearance, packing, timely deliveries, transportation and insurance of goods in transits, etc.
• Supervising the whole gamut of logistics operations including controlling the efficient flow and storage of goods and services from the point of origin to consumption in line with customers’ requirements.
• Coordinating with overseas agents for submitting relevant documents required during transportation including - bill of lading, freight transit order and export cargo shipping.
• Superintending loading of goods, documentation, brokerage, consolidation as well as arranging the carriage of goods and the associated formalities on behalf of the shipper or the receiver.
• Managing warehousing activities including order processing, scheduling tasks for maintaining stock and managing inventory levels to effectively meet delivery targets resulting in growth in sales and profits.
• Liaising with ship-owners/operators and offering highest standards of quality and service by emphasizing on minimizing costs and trouble-free performance of their vessels in port.
• Scrutinizing the A/R & A/P reports and handling accounting activities including audit, freight payments, sales/purchase ledger.
• Negotiating freight rates with the overseas agents and shipping lines through the company’s network and booking space according to customer requirements.
