MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with relief duties of Operational Managers
Supervise junior registered nurses to fulfil their duties
Attend theatre management meetings
Attend nurse monitoring and evaluation meetings
Attend education forum meetings
Collaborate with practice development for change management
Acting as scrub sister for operations including preparing the respective theatres for readiness for specific operations
Checking and preparing any additional equipment needed for specific procedures
Caring and storage of instruments and equipment
Packing and sterilising of instruments, stock and equipment appropriately e.g. steam autoclaving and ethylene oxide sterilising
Accepting bookings for patients and liaising with different members of the multidisciplinary team to assure readiness for a case
Ordering and liaising with the theatre manager for availability of stock and maintaining sufficient stock levels
Assist surgeons and anaesthesiologists with correct stock in theatre
