This is a mix green/brown field project and DESCON ENGINEERING is the EPC contractor for all Mech./ Civil/Electrical/Instrumentation & DCS works ( 280 Instruments, 1600 I/Os, 660 Loops, MV/ LV switch gear, motors, VSD drives, Transformers, plant lighting etc. etc.

is four areas, 4 substations & IES (control room), transformers, about 12000 I/Os, 3200 instruments and 1200KM cable.

POSITION : CONSTRUCTION MANAGER E & I
This project comprised of new GOT / SLOP pumps and piping along with modification in the existing facilities.
This is a gas refining plant project in Habshan area to produce sweet gas. This project is a joint venture of tecnimont & JGC. Descon Engineering Ltd (DEL) is construction subcontractor of JGC for E & I /Civil/ Mechanical (up to pre-commissioning). Our contract values US$ 190million.
•Designed “Sultan Tower”, an eighteen storey building for electrical.
•MSCMP (Management Services Consultancy Municipality Projects) Jeddah Municipality was a mega project. Under this project we managed projects of worth about SAR 20 billion/annum budget for the development of infrastructure and maintenance of the existing net work & facilities. We reviewed JM CPA’s (construction projects agency) existing organization structure and its procedures to restructure the existing for maximum output.
Being head of Electrical & Lighting department (consultant):
i)Assisted & advised Deputy Mayor Construction Projects JMP & Director Generals in technical matters, Reviewed project specification, BOQs, designs & drawings of projects in constituency of Amana (Metropolitan Municipality of Jeddah).
ii)Inspection and approval of Manufacturing concerns (Industries) for Amana Jeddah.
iii)Interdepartmental communication/co-ordination \{e.g. Roads / Bridges / Hydraulics /Facilities/QA QC & Contract dept\}.
iv)Prepared as-Is analyses and action plan for restructuring the electrical lighting department. As PMO team leader developed operation & maintenance manual, check lists, procedures, process flow charts and formats to improve the departmental effectiveness.
v)Review and approval of all electrical design drawings.

PROJECT : INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION, SAUDI ARAMCO - NUAYYIM ASL CRUDE OIL INCREMENT FACILITY PROJECT, RIYADH.

This is a GOSP project, is part of Saudi ARAMCO’s 100MBCD facilities program and target is to increase the crude oil facilities. We are the construction contractor for instrumentation/ calibration + DCS. This project is comprised of high pressure compressors, Water injection pumps, water separators and Bulk shipper pumps. There are about 2500 loops 600 instruments, most of the instrument are FF Bus type. We have completed CCR/ Rack room works, cable trays in the field and on pipe racks and cabling . We have completed instrument calibration, Valve calibration & stroking .

PROJECT : ICS REVAMP PROJECT, SAMAD AL- BAYRONI FERTILIZER COMPLEX, JUBAIL, KSA.
Al-Byroni is fertilizer complex and one of the SABIC subsidries. This project consists of the Urea plant/ Ammonia plant and related Utilities including field and CCR, Removal of the old Centum XL and installation of Centum CS-3000 V-net advance DCS system. The system is replaced in two parts. Part-1 contained Boiler-3 and NOX, Part-2 contained Urea and rest of utilities. Project completed successfully.

PROJECT : DCS REVAMP PROJECT PLANT-1 & UTILITIES
This project is comprised of Three Gas Compressors, Synthesis, Distillation, Reformers, Waste gases, Control Room, Boilers and utilities. Scope of work is to replacement of existing electro pneumatic control system and to install The Foundation Field Bus based YOKOGAWA’s Centum CS-3000 system. Replaced 204 pneumatic valve positioners with YOKOGAWA/FISHER DVC positioners and 800 transmitters (FF/Hart).

PROJECT : DCS UPGRADING PROJECT
This is comprised of three projects i.e. BTGD (Boiler turbine generator capacity 6 X 60MWts + common and auxiliary + 6X 60 TPH Desalination), BS (Three blending stations) and WTP/CTP (Water Treatment Plant/ Chemical Treatment Plant).
Replaced old electro-pneumatic system and Installed YOKOGAWA DCS system (Centum CS 3000), field instruments (also one 96 inch diar Mag. Flow Meter), transfer of generation/supply/ protection of 320 KV system (SCECO) etc.

A green field project comprising of all the electrical installations including 34.6 kV U.G. Feeder, Sub Stations, Process & Utilities (Compressors, Boilers, Pumping Stations, Reactor etc.), equipment installations electrification, testing &pre-commissioning.

PROJECT : GAS COMPRESSION EXPANSION PROJECT” at SUI, PAKISTAN.

The project was comprised of installation of six high-pressure compressors on existing six trains along with all instrumentation and electrical equipment from erection, testing to pre-commissioning. Upgrading of compression capability from 40 bar to 80 bar (including compressor itself, coolers, knock out drums, control stations etc, etc.).
Served STIL in the capacity of Manager Technical. I was responsible for the overall maintenance of Electrical, Mechanical, Boiler and Research Development Work including Energy conservation (steam/water/electricity).
Supervised all phases from erection, testing and commissioning of 3, 300 TPD, dry process, FLS Denmark supplied cement plant. The plant controlled by state of art combination of DCS & PLCs based MODICON MOD BUS PLUS by AEG Schienider. The work include 2.5 KM long four main underground 11KV feeders, temporary/permanent & stand by power systems, main + eight substations complete with transformers, switch gears and drives for the rotating equipment etc.
This is a high speed, fully automatic; PLC based PET bottling plant in collaboration with PEPSI INTERNATIONAL LTD, In the capacity of Manager Electrical (E&I), brought the plant machinery from Germany, erected, commissioned and afterward run the plant. The facilities included chillers, auto-loaders, low pressure & high pressure compressors, driers, gas analyzer (lab equipment) etc.

This was a “MODA” (Ministry Defence and Aviation) Project and was completed under the direct supervision of “American Corpse Of Military Engineers (C.O.E.)”. Being Electrical Engineer I was responsible for 36KV UG Ring Main Feeder, Transformer installation, Street Lighting, Electrification of Defense / Community & residential buildings.
