Key Functional skills
Obtain quotations: from suppliers against material request for purchasing material for inventory, non-stock and Asset items.
Liaise with Technical Group: For technically review & approval of quotation & requirements.
Negotiation: With suppliers on bulk quantities or if any changes in technical requirement.
Cross check: The orders (3 way cross match like order requisition, quotation and purchase order) before raising the order and before placing the orders.
Order Processing: Raising the order requisitions/purchase orders in JDE.
Monitoring: To make sure the delivery will be made on confirm expected lead time.
Expeditor: Chase up the order for in time delivery or the better delivery lead time.
Investigation and determining: what/how/ why material came in incorrectly or damaged (for non-conformances).
Focal point of contact: For Suppliers; order revisions, amendments and any other issues.
Operations Assistance: close work with operation teams to make sure to fulfill the urgent requirement within the time schedule.
Order Tracking: Maintaining the orders record like open, close, transit, delivered and cancelled orders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Under direct supervision, manages delivery and quality performance, cost and inventory management, and customer satisfaction for established suppliers
Manages purchase order execution and product delivery, including placement of on-time schedule agreements, mitigation of billing adjustments / terminations and execution of cost reduction goals
Interviews or contacts supplier salespersons, and secures bids
May expedite the filling of orders by suppliers to meet production
May substitute items within pre-approved guidelines
Works to maximize production capacity in accordance with production and master schedules
Actively uses continuous improvement tools to improve HS&E, quality, delivery, financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction
Handles special projects as assigned
Conducts all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes Health, Safety and Environmental policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Baker Hughes Core Values.

Final checkup of Records: thoroughly checking the records
Periodic reconciliation: Of shipping documents / customs duties.
Negotiation: on freight charges with shipping companies of export consignments.
Determination: shortest, fastest, cheapest route for export as well as import cargo.
