o Discussions with Business Analysts/Managers to understand the actual Business requirements and whether the requirements can be delivered as a solution with current organization IT Standards
o Mapping the actual Business requirements to the relevant organization IT strategy and documenting them in a Business Requirement Document (BRD) for review with IT Architecture and Review Board.
o Evaluate existing infrastructure capacity, performance; plan for future requirements, prepare proposals
o Evaluate technology/ tools and identify prospective solutions
o Identify Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies with respect to the project delivery
o Educate the Project managers regarding the proposed solution, technical deliveries, Criticality, Resources needed to deliver and estimated timelines
o Get an agreement/signoff from all the stake holders for the detailed solution provided
o Demonstrate the implemented solution to all the stake holders to get the signoff and later handover the implemented systems to the respective IT Operations team
o Conduct Proof Of Concepts on new technologies in the Data Centre for helping the organization to arrive at Technology strategy
o Knowledge sharing with other technical teams providing internal training, technical presentations and using internal knowledge sharing portal.
o Planning and Budgeting on IT Infrastructure Development
o Efficiently coordinate and manage vendors to achieve milestones / project deadlines
o Develop appropriate solutions that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with changing business needs
o Generating High Level Design, based on the user's needs and other constraints such as network, storage and security requirements
o Develop standards for hardware and Operating System build across the Enterprise
o Optimization of information management approaches through an understanding of evolving business needs and technology capabilities
o Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies
o Interfacing with the design and implementation engineers, so that any problems arising during design or implementation can be resolved in accordance with the fundamental architectural concepts, and user needs and constraints.
