Country Manager, Pearson Language Testing Division, Korea

Responsible for the overall Language Testing business of Pearson in Korea.

➢ Set up the business for the Language Testing division of Pearson in Korea
➢ Develop/manage its strategic business partnerships for marketing and sales for products such as PTE Academic, PTE General and PTE YL.
➢ Initiate and develop solutions for various clients together with Pearson’s learning/assessment products, working closely with other Pearson companies such as Pearson VUE, Pearson Education, Edexcel and Pearson Knowledge Technology.
➢ Launch/ increase the market share of Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) in Korea which was launched worldwide in October 2009.
➢ Make up/ propose/implement the Korea annual business strategy/action plans for sales and marketing.
➢ Propose and implement the annual budget.

Responsible for sales & marketing for PTE Academic a priority product of Language Testing of Pearson in Korea.

➢ Under the global business strategy, make up/propose/implement Korea’s annual business strategy/action plans for PTE Academic sales and marketing.
➢ Increase brand awareness of PTE Academic in the market. Execute and supervise the cost effective ways of marketing activities which include online marketing communication tools (SEM, SNS, Blog, café and other influential websites) as well as offline marketing activities (PR, events and exhibitions/roadshows). Also co-work with its strategic business partners for co-marketing/sales activities.
➢ Develop new business models for PTE Academic (e.g. initiating/ introducing /setting up new channels under strategic partnerships).
➢ Communication with HQ in London for the discussion of overall marketing and sales activities undertaken/and to be conducted in Korea
➢ Supervise its seasonal marketing campaigns to generate direct sales in Korea as well as propose for the special budget.

Responsible for the overall running of the Chamber, working closely with BCCK board members

➢ Develop and implement the Annual Business Plan (inc. the chamber’s annual budget to be proposed to the Treasurer) as well as chair the monthly board meetings and execute the directives of the Board.
➢ Delegate financial/administrative duties (maintain/monitor control for the chamber financial records) to and provide management of line-staff.
➢ Maintain and develop an effective network with British Embassy, other foreign chamber offices, the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, other Korean trade related bodies and senior corporate executives in Korea.
➢ Plan and organise regular and special events/functions (the British royal family visits and ministers etc) and ensure all activities run smoothly and profitably by liaising with BCCK board members to ensure that high quality speakers/moderators are obtained for the events.

Responsible for general marketing activities and raise the profile of BCCK

➢ Develop & execute active marketing campaigns to attract new member companies and to increase member participation at BCCK events.
➢ Initiate, manage and analyse BCCK Survey by working with external research companies and report results / implement solutions.
➢ Develop and supervise the management of the BCCK website as a highly effective marketing tool / channel.
➢ Supervise the publication of BCCK newsletter webzine on a monthly basis.
➢ Devise advertising/sponsorship plans to maximize the income through BCCK membership directory, newsletter and BCCK website.
➢ Supervise publication of the Membership directory on an annual basis as well as other printing materials.

Responsible for management of the ‘Education UK Brand’ including development of its communication strategy and application to promotional media. Responsible for making up Communication Plan within Annual Market Plan, which is reported to the HQ and UK stakeholders.

Responsible for developing and maintaining the British Council Member Agent Scheme including process management; organisation of regular training and workshop/membership evaluation etc. This includes creation of revenue and budget management.
