Stationed in National Water Company providing consultancy services for Riyadh City Business Unit (RCBU)
as follows:
Design Riyadh’s Water & Waste Water networks and review the existing networks.
Perform hydraulic modelling and analysis of Riyadh’s water and sewerage networks using WaterCAD and SewerCAD.
Conducting a study to review and evaluate Riyadh’s existing water and sewage systems networks.
Study and determine the extent of the efficiency of these networks considering urban development and
growing population in Riyadh with remedy proposals and solutions.
Analyze and identify major limitations, bottlenecks, and requirements for water and wastewater assets.
Provide a rehabilitation program for improving Water supply and Wastewater collection systems for
addressing the future needs of the system through the future planning periods, using continuous water
supply (24 hours per day) as a key condition.
Review STP effluent for redistribution as TSE, to be used as a substitute for non-domestic purposes
(irrigation, industrial, etc.) in order to reduce demand on limited domestic quality water resources.
Develop and present training to NWC internal staff on engineering software and required tools to peak their performance in Riyadh City Business Unit.
Meinhardt is providing the design and engineering services for an EPC contract between the Ministry of Interior and South Borders Guards and three main contractors. The projects differs from residential, commercial and business projects. The infrastructure scope of works includes storm water drainage; Potable water; Wastewater networks and treatment; Power networks; Telecommunications and Road Networks.
Detailed Design scope for the buildings includes Civil & Structural and MEP while the Executive Architecture scope includes Design Audit and Detailed Design.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Providing civil and infrastructure design, analysis and hydraulic modeling for the infrastructure networks.
Preparation of design documentation and drawings, design calculations and report writing, specifications and tender documentation, and other relevant material to meet the project requirement.
Checking and approving all drawings and calculations carried out by design Engineers and CAD Operators.
Delivery of assigned projects in line with Client expectation for time, cost and quality
Checking and approving the final output produced by the team and provide timely feedback and coaching where the quality of the produced work is not in line with client expectations and Meinhardt standard operating procedures
Completion of engineering work within agreed program.
The correctness and accuracy of own work and that of the team.
Day to day coordination with members of the design team
Ensuring that all design work is carried out in accordance with Company’s standard operating procedures;
Reporting to the project manager and director in a timely manner any matters that are likely to affect the project work plan, work quality or profitability and agree appropriate actions to eliminate or mitigate the risk.
Identify design alternatives for the development of new water resources.
Design water systems including water supply infrastructure, potable water treatment, and distribution.
Ensure design outcome is the best engineering solution according to local and international standards and regulations
Develop and prepare design criteria and procedures for water supply systems for the company for current and future projects
Review, supervise and provide technical support and guidance to the team in the delivery of engineering services for wet utilities in different stages of the project
Undertake any relevant hydraulic design modeling works using software’s of Water Computer Aided Design (CAD), WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, etc.
Undertake any works associated with tender preparations, specifications and standard design works that meet projects objectives.
Design water run-off collection networks, water supply channels, or water supply system networks.
Perform hydraulic analyses of water supply systems or water distribution networks to model flow characteristics, test for pressure losses, or to identify opportunities to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.
Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports.
Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability.
Inspect industrial and municipal facilities and programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Provide environmental engineering assistance in network analysis, regulatory analysis, and planning or reviewing database development.
Analyze and recommend water/waste water treatment or disposal methods.
Design water run-off collection networks, water supply channels, or water supply system networks.
Perform hydrological analyses to model the movement of water or forecast the dispersion of chemical pollutants in the water supply.
Perform hydraulic analyses of water supply systems or water distribution networks to model flow characteristics, test for pressure losses, or to identify opportunities to mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.
Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of facilities, such as water supply systems, run-off collection networks, water and waste water treatment plants, or waste water collection systems.
Analyze storm water or floodplain drainage systems to control erosion, stabilize river banks, repair channel streams, or design bridges
Analyze and recommend chemical, biological, or other waste water treatment methods to prepare water for industrial or domestic use.
Design sewers for the collection of waste water.
Working principally in the Infrastructure division on planning, preliminary design, design and project management services for water, wastewater and related infrastructure projects namely KASSALA CITY CENTER, NIYALA SEWAGE NETWORK and KASSALA MARKET DEVELOPMENT.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provide consultation on the environmental effects of various construction projects.
Inspect and evaluate industrial and municipal facilities and programs to assess their compliance with local environmental regulations.
Plan and design infrastructure networks (potable water, sewage, storm water), municipal water supplies and water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Give technical support for the purpose of system design and determining regulatory applicability
Monitor the progress of projects from beginning to end - from the feasibility stage, to design through to construction - or supervise one section of a large project.
Liaise with local authorities, government agencies, clients, contractors, residents, suppliers, technical experts and other consultants.
Developed curriculum in all areas including instruction, grading, preparing tests (quizzes, midterms, finals), and assigning final grades. Supervise dissertations in the areas of Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Water Quality and Water
Resources Management. Modules:

Worked with CCF as a consultant on various projects such as the rehabilitation and expansion of the armed forces medical services city’s sewage treatment plant, the feasibility study for the development of Laico Lap agricultural project in White Nile state and others. Duties were but not limited to conduct studies to assess and evaluate the environmental impacts of projects, plan, design, and maintain water delivery and water supply systems, including irrigation and sewage systems, design water infrastructure projects and prepare preliminary drawings, specifications as well as detailed designs and documentation for the construction and implementation of water infrastructure projects.
Won an industrial placement with Research and Development (R&D) department at Thames Water Co. UK and conducted a trial study at a new urban village, to investigate the reliability and outcome of using smart water metering devices and the benefits of the data collected by such sophisticated equipments
Worked in a two-man cell team in three oil fields; Block 5A (Tharjath, South Sudan), Block 5B (South Sudan) and Block 8 (Dinder, Sudan)to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Implement the company environmental management system.
Enforce, supervise and control the implementation of the company environmental policy through inspections and environmental awareness campaign.
Perform regular environmental inspections/audits, highlight irregularities, issue reports and monitor improvement actions compliance with environmental regulations.
Organize with support from HSE corporate all ISO 14001 external and internal certification audits.
Perform environmental risk assessment (with Safety counterpart) of any job having risk to the environment.
Update/establish procedures and standing instructions related to environment aspects.
Improve environmental awareness among sites personnel through communication campaigns and onsite training programs.
Maintain, develop and/or establish environmental documentation (environment management plan, waste management plan, monitoring plan, aspect & impact registers, and environmental records).
Maintain the readiness of oil spill preparedness equipments and team with the support of line management.
Prepare, participate and or animate any relevant meeting.

Wadi Abu Hamra Water Harvesting Project
Conducted a GIS- based hydrological analysis for a 15, 000 hectares area located in Wadi Abu Hamra at Darfur state, along with determining optimum locations for several water reservoirs in order to facilitate water harvesting for irrigation and development projects in the area.
Responsible for site supervision of 5 km road drainage at Mecca Street in Khartoum. Tasks were complying and proofing of the project designs, setting-out, excavation, concreting, measurement, payments, etc. Other projects were site supervision of a two 5- storey building in center Khartoum, tasks were similar.
