Responsible for assessing, planning, prioritizing, organizing, administering, and evaluating professional nursing care rendered to patients in Medical Surgical unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and collects relevant data and information of newly
admitted patients according to hospital’s policy.
- Prepares patient admitted for elective and emergency
surgeries.
- Perform nursing procedures and care according to the
scope of nursing practice and hospital’s policy and
procedure.
- Administer prescribed medications such as but not limited
to, oral, SC, IV, IM routed and record changes and response
of the patient.
- Administers enteral feedings per PEG and NGT.
- Performs accurate documentation of all the nursing care
rendered.
- Assess and observes changes in patient’s health status,
such as but not limited to, continence issues, diets, etc, and
performs various treatments as prescribed and according to
hospital’s policy and procedure.
Renders professional nursing care to patients with specific needs admitted from the different nursing units (OB ICU/OB Ward, Surgical Ward, OB ER, Medical-Surgical Ward).

Provides nursing care to patients with specific needs to each units assigned with minimal supervision from senior nurse.
As a volunteered nurse, in a 500 bed capacity tertiary government hospital, and assigned to special units such as, ENT ward, Orthopedic Ward, and PACU, and equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude I gained the confidence and all the necessary attributes that a nurse should possess.
