Manage Customs Department overseeing all daily activities included but not limited to clearance and audit processes in accordance with set guidelines, regulation and company policy in all areas of the business unit
•Provide guidance on Customs laws and regulations to internal, external customers and staff; ensure accurate and timely service, including financial controls to avoid penalties
•Manage Customs Services and team’s performance using KPI requirements and maintain high level results; identify strengths and weaknesses of the department and work to improve through training and guidance
•Understand all the elements of the import & export customs and correctly interpret this information to fulfill customers’ instructions and expectations
•Routine follow up on status of goods to ensure that suppliers meet delivery promises; track incoming shipments; liaise with Clearing Agents on cargo clearance with Customs
Reviewed documents for accuracy on importer's name and address, delivery address, pieces and weight, entry type code, bond code, location of goods, customs classification, I.T. number and country of origin
•Processed Customs Entries and checked Customs release for discrepancies along with placing release package in file
•Transmitted payment of Customs duties and submitted required copies; ensured the payable and receivable documents were completed accurately and forwarded on time.
Ensured the accuracy of Customs clearance papers along with ensuring on-time delivery schedule and following Customs clearance process strictly
•Followed up import tax payment to avoid overdue and penalty along with ensuring on-time submission of customs clearance paper to authority
•Took care of all logistic activities; Import & Export Shipment & MIS while co-ordinating with Customs/Excise/CHAs & Forwarders; negotiated with forwarders
•Reviewed invoices, manifests and other supporting documents for conformity to database and made data Entry of commercial invoices into Customs Operating System
