JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: SHIP SECURITY OFFICER
DEPARTMENT: SECURITY
RESPONSIBILITIES
• In charge of all security administration onboard and ensure implementation and compliance to the approve security system.
• Receives, handles, and secure security related information and sensitive security related communications.
• Assess and initiate counter-measures on identified security threats and patterns.
• Assist and ensure implementation and compliance to security procedures to detect weapons, drugs, and explosive devices and components.
• Implement non-discriminatory methods of recognizing of characteristics and behavioral patterns of persons who are like to threaten onboard security.
• Initiate and implement security-measures on recognized threats and adverse procedures to circumvent the security system.
• Conduct regular checks and function test of all onboard security equipments, system and their operational limitations including issued equipment to all security personnel.
• Conduct security inspection when required.
• Supervise physical searches and non-intrusive inspections.
• Ensure electronic guard monitoring system is functioning and implemented.
• Conduct evaluation of security personnel individual performance with recommendations.
• Ensure completeness of k9 testing kits.
• Conduct regular test for k9 sensitivity.
• Ensure sufficient and proper security personnel deployment.
• Coordinate with TFSM members for onboard activity.
• Conduct proper investigation, interview and reporting of onboard security incidens.
• Check, verify, and update logbook entries.
• Check, verify and approve working hours of all security personnel.
• Familiar with the lay-out and configuration of the vessel.
• Ensure timely reporting of security related incident onboard with related documentations.
• • Compliance with the Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE) Management System.
