Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
• Team Lead for North Sea Material Coordination Team (10 x onshore and 13 x offshore MCs), overseeing their day-to-day activities (spanning Ops, Wells, and Subsea) and ensuring alignment with BP's safety standards and common processes.
• Materials SME and primary escalation point for Maintenance, Wells, Subsea, Project, and Finance teams, facilitating streamlined communication and issue resolution.
• Account Manager for regional 3PL/Freight Forwarder, ensuring smooth logistics operations and adherence to stringent UK Export & Import regulations, including the control of dual-use/licensable goods.
• Established a framework of regular Kanban meetings to drive collaboration and Continuous Improvement between the Materials Management and Maintenance function - through which the region’s material availability KPI increased from 38% to 80% and the volume of rescheduled work offshore reduced significantly.
• Spearheaded the successful implementation of a new SAP Demand Planning tool for Wells (Drilling & Completions) materials - revolutionising material forecasting/stock management and contributing to a substantial reduction in surplus inventory.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Buying, and Inventory teams to develop maintenance spares strategies (e.g. OEM vs Supplier) and improve procurement process/system efficiencies (e.g. clear ordering channels, lead-time maintenance, rate negotiations, inventory vs free-text vs service) to positively impact overall workflow.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
• Directed and supervised a team of 4 x Procurement Specialists, overseeing the Integrity Management, Logistics, and MRO categories, ensuring precise execution of sourcing activity and adherence to strategic Procurement goals and objectives.
• Developed and presented a series of sourcing strategy and contract award papers to the Omani Government, securing critical approvals and fostering strategic alliances with key suppliers.
• SPA for the Accenture-led “Zero-Based-Budgeting” (ZBB) programme, which involved a comprehensive review of saving opportunities across multiple high-value contracts, and ultimately resulting in the removal of $20 million (20%) of “waste” from the Business.
• Mentored and coached members of local procurement team, actively contributing to their professional growth.
• Led a team of procurement specialists tasked with enhancing all local category management and sourcing processes, procedures, and policies.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
• Led the execution of multiple complex sourcing events for North Sea Marine, Aviation. Fuel, and Supply-Base sub-categories (incl. fuel supply, vessel charters, walk to work campaigns, onshore cargo ops), achieving substantial savings and operational efficiencies. All of which required a comprehensive supply market analysis, category strategy, TCO analysis/evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
• Pioneered the creation of an Approved Vendor's List (AVL) for North Sea marine vessels and vessel owners, proactively addressing ethical concerns and reducing BP's exposure to modern slavery risks.
• Collaborated with BP's Legal and Finance teams to negotiate comprehensive Terms & Conditions for a landmark vessel-sharing agreement with Shell and Total.
• Day-to-day contract management and administration: rate negotiations; contract amendments; query/dispute resolution; systems (SAP, Ariba) management; supplier performance review meetings.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
• Spearheaded the strategic planning and execution of the North Sea "Consolidated Maintenance Bid" - through which 27 onshore and offshore scopes of work were tendered via a single RFP,
resulting in annual cost reduction of over $40 million. For this work, I was awarded the individual “CIPS UK Oil & Gas Young Supply Chain Professional of the Year” award.
• Facilitated the regional implementation of Global Framework Agreements for key categories such as Chemical Managed Services (CMS), Topside Inspection, and Engineering Consultancy - managing supplier MOCs and collaborating with Global Procurement.
• Championed collaboration initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers, leading to the development of a comprehensive suite of Key Performance Indicators spanning Technical, Commercial, Quality, and Safety aspects - fostering transparency and improving performance throughout the supply chain.
• Day-to-day contract management and administration: rate negotiations; contract amendments; query/dispute resolution; systems (SAP, Ariba) management; supplier performance review meetings.
• Managed the regional Approved Vendor List (AVL), ensuring suppliers adhered to stringent quality standards and protocols.
• Closed an array of quality-related supplier Non-Conformances within BP's Excellence through Supplier Quality (ESQ) system, showcasing a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in supplier relationships.
• Lead auditor for multiple domestic and international supplier Quality Management System audits, aligning with ISO 9001:2008 requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering continuous improvement in supplier quality processes.
Completed Graduate Programme with MoD's Nuclear Propulsion Department, which Included placements with: Research & Development (R&D), Safety & Policy, Science & Technology (S&T) Teams, as well as a secondment with Serco Technology's Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
Achieved a First Class (top grade possible) Master in Engineering (MEng)
