I work as the lead transport paramedic for a private ambulance service. I am responsible for maintaining the inventory levels of my ambulance as well as ensuring that it is always ready for duty.
As the lead paramedic I have the responsibility for the most critical of patients. My typical patient is sedated and ventilator dependent. They often have multiple medications that must be monitored during the transport. Our transports typically range from 500-1, 000 kilometers one-way.
I work PRN, approximately 60 hours per month.
I work in the 911 emergency dispatch center. I am responsible for dispatching the fire and EMS units for the city of Odessa as well as four outlying volunteer fire departments. My span of control includes over 30 fire apparatus and 10 medical units. I am responsible for knowing their location and service status at all times and assigning units to the emergency calls that come in through our 911 telephone lines. I work 12 hour shifts approximately 10 times per month.
Delivery and logistics support for multiple clients in the Houston metropolitan area. We operated a fleet of 5 trucks and 8 trailers with more resources available from contracted owner-operators during heavy demand periods.
Our primary responsibility was delivery and set up of corporate events. We delivered tents, tables, chairs, bars, and DJ sound equipment. We set everything up and then returned at the end of the event to bring everything back to a centralized warehouse for storage.
I sold this business to one of my drivers after moving to West Texas and starting my career with Odessa Fire Department.
Worked as a firefighter driving a Pierce Quint Ladder Truck. Responded to emergency calls including structural fires both residential and commercial, wildland fires, motor vehicle collisions, and general emergency medical calls.
This is the school I attended to earn my National Registration as a Licensed Paramedic. While in the program I also earned an Associate of Applied Science degree.
My undergraduate work included primarily business management and finance classes. I am currently considering returning to school for a Master's degree in Public Administration.
