Wyndham Hotels, Addis Ababa
Red Carpet Hospitality has been awarded for FFE & OSE Procurement services for Wyndham Hotels in Ethiopia. Situated adjacent to the new TRYP by Wyndham, will offer its guests an unrivalled level of luxury in the convenience of its central location. This new signing also marks the first Wyndham to open in Africa and is set to bring the brand’s global quality and reputation to the visitors. Extensive meeting facilities combined with the very best in leisure amenities will offer the perfect package to all types of travellers. The hotel’s 161 rooms, including nine suites, 5 F&B Outlets, Ballroom & Spa are expected to attract visitors from all over the globe. The hotel is expected to start welcoming guests at the end of next year.

Hardships:
In 2004-2005 there was prolonged curfew in Kabul on many occasions due to elevated threat level. I was able to ensure that supply chain was maintained to run the pre-opening activities and later the hotel operations.
In 2006, Kabul Serena Hotel was ransacked and torched during riots after a US military convoy ploughed into a group of pedestrians. Assessed and surveyed the damages with the Insurance Company MIC Global Risks Limited, Saudi Arabia and obtained the claim amount USD 600K.
In 2008, Kabul Serena Hotel was attacked by militants resulting in many foreign and local civilian casualties. I was part of the core team which managed the aftermath of the attacks and restarted hotel operations. I was also involved in the assessment of damage and obtaining the Insurance claim for USD 800, 000.00.
