• Assessment of regional legal and other regulatory requirements related to HSE.
• Near miss, Accident and daily HSE observations analysis to determine the trend and root causes of deviation and recommendations to adopt proactive approach rather than reactive.
• Liaison with project HSE team for effective control of health and safety issues and to protect environment for a sustainable growth.
• Ensure safe working techniques are adopted and re-enforce the safety policy, HSE objectives, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
• Advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective HSE Management System is implemented and working.
• Provide guidance for implementation of company-wide HSE initiatives.
• Provide guidance and direction in HSE programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
• Development of Project HSE Training Plan and to ensures its implementation and training records are maintained.
• Establishment of emergency action plan to minimize the negative effect of any accident on work force, assets and environment and immediate restoration.
• Assist project team in investigation of all project incidents (Fatality, LTI, RWC, MT, Near Miss and First Aid) and ensure proper records are maintained. Assist in root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions related to the incident and ensures “lessons learned” are communicated throughout the Company and are incorporated into the program, if necessary.
• Conduct site safety visits to ensure compliance of implemented HSE practices. Advice and take necessary measures to correct discrepancies, and assure that corrective action are followed up.
• Ensure inspections by Client are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
• Responsible for ensuring that Project HSE Management policy, plans and procedures are implemented effectively and are suitable for the their purposes and use for which they are intended.
• Project HSE budgeting and staffing for effective product delivery.
• Responsible for preparation of Integrated Management System (IMS) documents against the requirements of latest standard of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• Preparation of departmental management system documents with consultation of process owners. Department includes Administration, Human Resource, Business Development, Proposals, Engineering, Procurement, Subcontracting, Planning, IT, Finance, QA/QC, HSE, Stores, Fixed Assets and Personnel Administration.
• Liaison with certifying bodies for certification against international standards.
• Training of all Management Staff against company’s developed management system.
• Development of internal audit program and conduct internal audits of all departments and projects as per requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• QHSE data analysis of Company to access the effectiveness of adopted system and recommend changes on the basis of root cause analysis.
• Author of QHSE publication to promote awareness at all level through HSE hand book, flyers, bulletins.
• Responsible for the compilation of QA and HSE section in Proposals and Pre-qualification documents to device winning strategy for new work front.

Worked in Etimaad Engineering (Pvt.) Limited as Lead QHSE Engineer (Head Office, Lahore). Also served for Etimaad group companies i.e. Etimaad Qatar LLC, Arabian Etimaad Industrial Comapany (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Saudi Etimaad Industrial Services (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
Major responsibilites included development of Integrated Managemet Systems of mentioned companies against the requirments of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 and get certification and team leader.
Other responsibilities inculde training and development of all staff memebrs, internal audits and HSE inspections, supervision of project HSE team and their trainings, QA and HSE data compilation with recommendations and key findings, near miss and incident/ accident investigations and reporting for improvement. Further, team building for new and existing projects, participation in proposals prepration specifically for QHSE matters.
Worked as QHSE Engineer at Descon Engineering Limited (Head office) Lahore. Also served for sister companies Descon Chemicals and Nimir Resins Limited as I/C HSE on special assignment for development of HSE department.
