- Responsible for developing, managing, and leading population health research and related projects.
- Mentoring two project specialists on conducting systematic reviews. Mentoring four premedical students in field work (overseeing while subject recruitment and training students to input data on an Excel sheet from the study questionnaire)
- Contributing to the Institute’s print, electronic and web-based communication and educational and community programs.
- Helping with IPH activities: note taking during symposia and workshops, synthesizing research discussions with researchers into a report.
▪ The IPH role: developing and implementing innovative professional education, research, community awareness and clinical programs in the broad area of population health. The IPH will work closely with the Ministry of Public Health and Qatar Foundation in lending full support to their initiatives in relevant areas.

▪ Main research topic: To characterize the epidemiology of hepatitis C virus infection and to estimate the national population-level HCV prevalence in the countries of the Horn of Africa subregion of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In this purpose, a protocol was developed and a systematic review, meta-analyses and meta-regressions were conducted.
▪ Secondary research topic:
- To characterize the epidemiology of hepatitis C virus infection and to estimate the national population-level HCV prevalence in Mongolia
- Identifying regional variation in the association between HIV and HSV-2 prevalence: systematic review and met-analysis
▪ WHO Collaboration in producing a public health report on HCV in the Middle East and North Africa
- Writing a chapter on the overview of HCV epidemiology among low risk populations (general population)
▪ Consultancy in systematic review, meta-analyses, and meta-regressions: providing assistance in building search criteria, data checking, sharing my expertise in conducting analyses and interpreting the outputs on R, STATA, and Excel.
