An Oil & Gas company with 22 years experience in the domain of importing, distributing and marketing Petroleum Products across East and Central Africa and headquartered in Dar es Salaam, the main port and commercial capital of Tanzania. Company also has an Aviation Facility at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza Airport & Kigoma Airport all in Tanzania.

Main Responsibilities:

• I have reinvented the maintenance system in place and improved the maintenance records being kept for both Oil & Gas facilities.

• I am in charge of a team of 8 mechanical and electrical technicians whom I have trained on the importance of preventive maintenance.

• I have also led my team in realizing faster and efficient response to breakdowns.

• I have redesigned the LPG storage facility to improve on procedural efficiency during receipt of product from the cargo ships.

• I have started training on Aviation Fuel Management to take over the aviation fuel department of the company where we store Jet A-1 fuel and have an aircraft refueling facilities.

• I have also taken over the Aviation Facility maintenance management at the airports.

Reporting to the Industrial Department Manager, I planned and supervised LPG Compliance Inspections Countrywide on LPG Wholesale & Retail Facilities. These inspections were guided by the Energy Act of 2006 by the Kenyan Government.

Main Responsibilities:

• Improved on the communication between the inspection executioners which was SGS and the governing body from Ministry of Energy, The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). Information flow was uninterrupted and on timely manner.

• Scheduled comprehensive inspection plan authorized by ERC.
Redesigned the inspection forms used to a more robust template with all the valuable information to be captured and shared by the facilities and outlets being inspected.

• The monthly reports for all inspections done had a significant improvement after the additions and omissions I made.

• Participated in investigations of accidents involving LPG.

Reporting to the Production Manager I supervised the production floor and maintenance teams.

Main Responsibilities:

• Learned very quickly the art of tea leaves manufacturing from the bush to the cup.

• Supervised the daily tea production process and made sure product was up to required standards

• Introduced proper maintenance planning, execution and recording.

• Improved on the steam delivery system by properly lagging the whole system and using the right type of dry wood on the water boilers.

• Led sensitization campaign on Occupational Health and Safety.

• Was a key participant in the ISO 9001:2008 Certification Implementation.

Reason For Leaving: Moved to get a new challenge at a company that will also further the experience I had gathered at the point.

• Redid all the bank reconciliations for the updated accounts and reported the flaws and irregularities found.

Reason For Leaving: This was a temporary gig that helped me sustain myself until an opportunity to work in the area of my profession arose.
