Working alongside Project Managers in following up on work and assuring the implementation of regulations required by the authorities regarding architectural, structural and MEP designs. As well as representing K&A in technical meetings regarding structural/architectural matters.

Duties:
▪ Manage permit processes and related issues with Planning, Engineering & Building
divisions.
▪ Plan the permitting processes to insure a smooth, time and cost efficient process.
▪ Tracks and maintains accurate and up-to-date information on the status of permits.
▪ Routes information submitted for compliance with conditions of approval to concerned staff
and departments.
▪ Coordinate with different departments (Arch, Mechanical, Electrical and Structural) to set up
design deliverables required for submission.
▪ Act as a link between developers, builder’s applicants and government staff for coordination
of permits.
▪ Advises and informs concerned staff and department of document and plan submittal
requirements for new projects.
▪ Attending meetings as necessary; providing authorities regulations, conditions and
design/submission requirements.
▪ Performs related duties as required.

 Day-to-day Management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labor force and the work of any subcontractor.
 Liaising with clients and their representatives, including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
 Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters on site.
 Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
 Preparing reports as required.
 Planning and organizing the work in order to meet agreed deadlines.
 Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
 Ensuring that all materials used in site and work performed are as per specification.
 Liaising with local authorities to ensure compliance with local regulations and by-laws.

During the three months of my internship, I have learned important construction procedures directly from professional engineers by accompanying them to working sites. I have also learned about how the relationship should be between the client, consultant and contractor.
