- Monitoring the errors during seismic data conversion process to ensure the highest industry standard in the final product output.
- Investigating tape contents and data recovery, and ensuring tapes are labeled with the correct information.
- Assuring that all documentation is complete including indexing, packaging, and release of the product by following production procedures and completing internal documentation.
- Provide technical oversight of the seismic operations including supervision & QC of all instrument tests of the recording equipment on a daily & monthly basis.
- QA/QC all aspects of the acquisition, reflection & refraction profile recording, seismic data recording, and field processing.
- Submit reports to company/client per seismic line, field record evaluation (low energy, parity errors, noise level, positioning errors, frequency content), source point move/skids, receiver point move/skips, dead traces, displaced or recovered shots and any others factors that affect seismic data quality.
- Conduct daily revision and QC of the survey geometry incorporating all company approved changes and ensuring that any proposed changes are made according to the land seismic acquisition contract specifications and the technical requirements of the survey design.
- Verifying the seismic acquisition and deliver the daily, weekly and monthly reports specified in the land seismic acquisition contract.
- Responsible for data quality control during the acquisition phase.
- Producing a preliminary brute stack.
- Interpreting and mapping 2D and 3D seismic data.
- Participating and making recommendations for acquisition parameters based on testing for vibrators source including peak particle velocity.
- Pre-processing for seismic data to ensure the conformity with required parameters before the final delivery of the data to the client.
Geophysics is a subject of natural science concerned with the physical processes and physical properties of the Earth and its surrounding space environment, and the use of quantitative methods for their analysis. Geophysics is applied to societal needs, such as mineral resources, mitigation of natural hazards and environmental protection. In Exploration Geophysics, Geophysical survey data are used to analyze potential petroleum reservoirs and mineral deposits, locate groundwater, find archaeological relics, determine the thickness of glaciers and soils, and assess sites for environmental remediation.
