Summary:
• Prepares plans, specifications and cost estimates within specified guidelines for assignments of moderate difficulty.

Responsibilities were:

• Develop job descriptions for Architectural and structural activities.
• Follow up activities at the site.

Responsibilities were:
• Prepare the architectural detail design drawings (plans, elevations…etc) for
various king Faisal university facilities.
• Review, check and verify the specifications and drawings of projects
completed as per King Faisal University Engineering Standards, Codes and
Specifications.
• Conduct site survey/ verification and coordinating with engineers of other
disciplines during the detailed design aspect of the projects.
• Gather information and design requirements of the projects.
• Prepare the construction scope of work, list of materials, and technical
specifications.
• Prepare all documentation prior to submittal and certification to King Faisal
University Engineering Drawings.
• Manage the overall operation of the projects; prepare the daily activity and
manpower distribution of the project. Also; prepare the required material
quantity take-off, procure material. Plus, control the project schedule to save
time to finish in a shorter time and within the budget. Also, review the project
progress and prepare a weekly report to the General Manager.

Background of the department: Building Engineering Due to the large disagreement between the architects and other engineers involved in designing buildings, some people suggested having one building engineer involved with the team; this engineer has to have knowledge about all systems applied in buildings. So in the beginning he has to study some of the architectural design principles, then he studies all building systems including structural, constructional, mechanical, electrical...systems. All students have to develop their design skills according to what they have studied; they design projects with respect to the modular design principles, lifecycle costing (initial, running), time of construction, availability of materials and systems...etc
