Reward and Governance
Responsibilities: Responsible for the management of all Executive reward activities and the implementation of reward governance activities across the continent. The duties include:
•Management of all activities annual increase and bonus process relating to the Executives (top150) based globally in South Africa, Dubai, Prague and Amsterdam.
•Assisted with reward matters relating to the unbundling of MultiChoice from Naspers and the listing of MultiChoice on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
•Deliver timely and appropriate day to day advice on executive reward matters (e.g. benchmarking, hiring, termination, buyouts).
•Manage the Board RemCo meeting cycle (incl. papers, agenda coordination, authorship). This includes relevant reporting to Naspers Remco when required.
•Production of MultiChoice public remuneration disclosures (e.g. remuneration report).
•Design, implementation and ongoing management of internal MultiChoice remuneration governance standards and frameworks
•Manage entire share scheme administration function including the implementation of new plans, release and grant of shares, system, trustee engagement, recons, communication and tax.
•Internal conformance testing on reward governance activities
•Tracking and analysing developments in remuneration regulation globally and assessing the impact on MultiChoice (e.g. King IV, government consultations on executives). This includes producing consultation responses; authoring internal briefing memos for RemCo, Group Exco, and Reward Leadership Team members.
•Internal stakeholder contact, incl. Reward Leadership Team, wider reward teams across MultiChoice and Naspers globally, business reward teams, Corporate Secretariat, Legal, Finance, Tax etc.
Reward Governance and Share Schemes
Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination and implementation of Barclays Africa and Barclays plc reward governance activities across the continent. The duties include:
•Manage the Board RemCo meeting cycle (incl. meeting / agenda coordination, authorship). This includes relevant reporting to Barclays Remco when required.
•Assisted with all Reward Governance matters relating to the separation of Barclays Africa from Barclays plc.
•Manage entire share scheme administration function including the implementation of new plans, release and grant of shares, system, trustee engagement, recons, communication and tax.
•Deliver timely and appropriate day to day advice for Barclays Africa and Barclays plc reward teams on reward governance matters (e.g. hiring, termination, buyouts).
•Design, implementation and ongoing management of internal Barclays Africa and Barclays plc remuneration governance standards
•Management of governance aspects of annual payround
•Internal conformance testing on reward governance activities
•Support on Barclays Africa key regulatory relationships regarding remuneration, including, The PRA, The South African Reserve Bank and other national regulators in which Barclays Africa operates
•Tracking and analysing developments in remuneration regulation globally and assessing the impact on Barclays Africa (e.g. CRDIV, government consultations on executive). This includes producing consultation responses; authoring internal briefing memos for RemCo, Group Exco, and Reward Leadership Team members.
•Production of Barclays Africa public remuneration disclosures (e.g. remuneration report etc).
•Manage the delivery of Barclays Africa deliverables with investors and shareholder on remuneration including:
• Producing briefing materials for the Board for AGM
• Producing shareholder presentation packs
• Responding to investor / shareholder questions on remuneration
• Support to Corporate Secretariat in managing the investor/shareholder dialogue on remuneration
•Internal stakeholder contact, incl. Reward Leadership Team, wider reward teams across Barclays Africa and Barclays plc, business reward teams, Corporate Secretariat, Legal, Finance, Tax etc.
Responsibilities: Part of the Centre of Expertise for FNB HR relating specifically to Remuneration. The FNB staff complement is approx. 28, 000 employees. The duties include:
•Assist FNB Africa and FNB South Africa segments with all remuneration related matters
•Review and update relevant remuneration reports and policies
•Manage the Annual Salary Review process across FNB South Africa and FNB Africa. This includes:
•Interact with various FNB Exco members on remuneration within their areas and advise on relevant strategies
•Develop bargaining union documentation
•Facilitating the share allocation process
•Review relevant salary structures and ranges
•Managing increase and bonus spend of segments against pools and union compliance
•Assist segments with all queries
•Assist with bonus transfer processes
•Develop relevant communication for employees and management
•Formulate and implement various Remuneration training programmes
•Present remuneration training programmes
•Conduct benchmarking and job evaluation exercises across the FNB South Africa group
•Manage relevant remuneration projects
Responsibilities: All responsibilities related to reward management for Nedbank Africa and the Nedbank Group. The staff complement for Nedbank is approx 24, 000 employees. The duties incl.:
•Write the Remuneration Report for Nedbank which incl. interacting with RemCo, the CEO and Exco
•Assist Nedbank Africa with any remuneration queries, i.e. remuneration surveys, benefit management, job evaluation
•Assist Nedbank Corporate with general remuneration queries, incl. annual increases, STIs, LTIs and job evaluation
•Prepare relevant documentation for RemCo, when required
•Manage relevant projects (as required) including, but not limited to, job families, due diligence requirements from a Remuneration perspective, benefit review
•Interact with Survey companies pertaining to surveys and thought leadership
•Advise Nedbank Corporate and Nedbank Africa on appropriate reward strategies and policies
Reward Consulting
Responsibilities: All responsibilities related to reward management and consulting, incl.:
•Executive Remuneration review, i.e. Governance & King III
•Manage Africa Benchmark studies in Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Mozambique
•Reward Strategy Development & Reviews
•Advise both local and international clients on reward matters, i.e. salary increases, salary structuring, benefits etc.

Design of research projects and the logical interpretation of research results which includes:
