Compensation and Benefits
After several mergers and acquisition, the HR team took on a different direction. The recruitment team was decentralised and the responsibility was passed on to project managers. As an employee with high potential and high performance, I was offered a role in C&B.

In this role, I contribute in the design, development and regular review of compensation structure, benefits and reward programmes and performance management to support recruitment, retention, motivation, productivity and engagement of the employees at all levels.

Major achievements are:

• Contributed to the overall compensation and benefits philosophy and strategy following multiple mergers and acquisitions
• Contributed to the development and implementation of a new incentive scheme in 2016 to drive a culture of performance and address employee concerns on rewarding non-performing staff
• Led the review, proposal and implementation of new salary structures for Palladium’s major offices - Nigeria, London, Bristol, Brisbane, Sydney, UAE, Washington DC and New York, following the shift in business strategy from International development to consulting
• Forecasted fringe benefits, for multiple countries to ensure compliance and competitiveness for bidding purposes, in conjunction with the compliance team
• Developed, maintained and implemented policies on Job evaluation, Job design, Incentive schemes
• Contributed to policies in recruitment, diversity and inclusion, leave management, expat assignments etc
• Led the job evaluation and design in 2015 to implement consistent salary structures and job titles after the acquisition of 5 companies to form Palladium
• Managed the job design and evaluation process and maintained a database of all job descriptions
• Leads regular market benchmarking and survey exercises
• Contributed to the development of an executive compensation program and incentive scheme
HRIS
• Contributed to the development and implementation of Palladium’s ERP system in 2016
• Designed and configured modules on Performance management, Resource planning, Talent planning, Skills library
• System administrator capacity with the responsibility to review and approve enhancements on the HRIS system based on business needs
• Developed and implemented a monthly dashboard and report for the CEO and region heads

Role
In this role, I am responsible for recruiting permanent staff and temporary consultants across a broad range of disciplines and sectors for projects in developing countries across the world. I am reporting to the Group Recruitment Director

Main responsibilities
➢ Effective partnering with internal clients, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with hiring managers and HR Business partners

Project description
Australia Awards is an AusAID-funded initiative designed: (i) to equip Africans with the skills and knowledge necessary to influence the economic and social development outcomes of their own countries; and (ii) to build the long-term capacity of African governments to provide a range of essential services, strengthen law and justice systems, improve transparency and achieve reforms to meet their own development challenges, particularly to progress towards their Millennium Development Goals.
Australia Awards provides a mix of short- and long-term scholarships to Africans in the public and private sectors and civil society in targeted disciplines that support the home countries’ developmental priorities. In 2012, over 1, 000 Awards were offered to 50 African countries

Role
In this role, I am seconded to the project by GRM International to manage the recruitment for International and national staff and provide advice for recruitment best practices, talent pool building, and recruitment strategies. I report to the Team Leader.

  Prepare Terms of References (TOR)/ Job description for all International and national roles and make sure that it is quality compliant.
 Source and recruit for all international adviser roles, as well as national roles in the three hub offices: Pretoria, Brisbane and Nairobi. This includes permanent and temporary staff.
 Maintain a talent pool of experts in the Education and scholarships sector, creating lasting relationships
 Actively involved in the selection of African scholars
 Participation in Alumni workshops
 Prepare and issue contracts to all Fixed term employees, Subcontractors and permanent staff
