3. GA Surveyor for a Bulk Carrier which ran aground in Indonesia.
4. Cargo damage surveys for APP, Indonesia for various
consignments of wood pulp and finished products.
5. Packaging suitability for semi-conductor components for sea
freight and air freight.
6. Ware house inspection for Insurance purposes.
7. Gas Carrier inspection and valuation for potential buyers.
8. Have carried out various hull damage surveys due to
collision, grounding and subsequent dry docking and
permanent repairs at all ship yards in Singapore.
9. Marine Casualty Investigator for major collision in Vietnam,
fishing vessel sinking with cargo in Indian Ocean, and many
such similar investigations.
10. Investigation into Piracy.
11. In house faculty for cargo loss prevention.
12. As deputy MR, have been closely associated with the
recertification audit of the company for ISO and successfully
recertified the company and procedures for the next 5 years.
13. Have investigated into various collisions involving 2 to 3
ships in the Malacca straits for SOMPO, PICC, SWEDISH
CLUB.
14. Have carried out investigation into alleged contamination of
CPO and PFAD when the vessel declared GA due to main
engine breakdown.
15. Have been actively associated with various shipyards in
Singapore during permanent repairs to collision damages on
behalf of H&M Underwriters.
16. Have carried out internal audit of other departments of the
company.
17. Have been associated with many GA and Salvage cases as
Senior Marine, Hull and Cargo Surveyor.
18. Have carried out numerous other cargo related loss prevention
and loss mitigation surveys.
19. Have been actively associated with Quality 360 inspection of
reefer vessels ( the quality 360 is like cdi for chemical tankers
and attending to Project co-ordinating activities for the
Mega Nuclear Power Project in Kudankulam. Was actively
associated with the minor port construction, obtaining clearances
for functioning of the port, Barge movement and road movement of
ODC / OWC packages ( Expert on ODC Movement and Logistics
consultant attending to Project cargo loading in Italy for
Indian Business House through J.B.Boda Surveyors Pvt Ltd.,
Mumbai. Carried out safety and navigation audits on board
chemical tankers between Bangkok and Singapore with
Philippine and Korean crew
Employed with B Navi Ship Management, Chennai - branch of B
Navi Ship Management and Ship Owners as DPA, CSO ( Company
Self was engaged as Marine
Surveyor in their Marine Survey Department with Gross wages -
USD 6500 per month which includes fully furnished
accommodation, annual leave, car, Travel to and from India for full
family twice a year. Also handling agency services, chandling
services and stevedoring services.

Was stationed at Tuticorin overseeing all operations with regard to
import of Project Cargo for a major Nuclear Power Plant Site
nearby. The job description includes but is not limited to supervising
cargo loading at Russian Ports, Discharging the cargo at Tuticorin,
road movement, barge movement for ODCS upto 400 mtons from
disport to plant site including Roll On / Roll Off operations,
Warehouse management activities at the Plant Site, Liason with Port
officials and Insurance companies, Loss minimization, risk
management, loss prevention, HRD/ HRM, various audits by
internal and Statutory bodies, Management representative,
formulating the HSE and QA manuals and procedures, HRD and
various other project related activities. Have completed the
SSO&PSO Course and have been actively involved in the
formulation of the Security Policy for the minor port of
Kudankulam, which happens to be a Captive Port for a Nuclear
Power Project. Self was also the Management Representative for the
entire Project activities. Was actively associated in various quotes
during my tenure.
I was actively associated with the quotation for the project and
subsequent budget planning, ware house planning and management,
man power recruitment for the project and profit centre head and
construction and approval of minor port at the project site.

Since joining the company have been involved with P & I Condition
surveys, Risk Evaluation surveys for various P & I Clubs, Cargo
damage surveys, Hull and machinery damage surveys, Heavy lift
cargo handling including lashing, Reefer cargo surveys for all the
fresh fruits and produce being imported into U.A.E, cost approvals
for major Law Firms and P&I Clubs for damage claims. Also carried
Sale and Purchase surveys.
Served as Master on reefer ships. Have taken delivery of 2 reefer
ships. Ships on time charter with Chiquitta, Dole and Geest. Have
loaded and discharged various kinds of Heavy Lift Cargoes. Have
extensive experience in Controlled Atmosphere carriage of bananas,
kiwi, apples. Have extensive experience in the carriage of TUNA,
HORSE MACKEREL and other deep frozen products

Loading and lashing supervision of Heavy Lift Cargoes upto 120
Tons
Condition survey of vessels for P&I Clubs.
Marine casualty surveys including PL, CTL.
Charter party disputes
Cargo Loss minimization, damages assessment, grain stability
calculations for vessels of Indian owners.
Container ship bay planning, yard sequencing for 4th
generation
container vessels upto 3500 TEU’s capacity for APL and NOL.
TPD Surveys.
Marine Insurance surveys for cargo and hull.
Marine inspection of Tankers & Chemical Tankers loading
chemicals such as N-Paraffin, Ortho-xylene, LAB
Inspection of Tankers for fitness to load molasses & supervision
of loading Molasses.

1975 - 1992 : Joined the training ship “T.S. RAJENDRA” in 1975. After
completing the training in 1976, joined as deck apprentice with The
Shipping Corporation of India. Rose to the rank of
