My Duties include:

• Maintaining a positive relationship between McGraw Hill and Key account customers, ensuring that all customer service targets are consistently met.
• Dealing with all customer relations for Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian Authority, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Greece.
• Resolving complaints from clients from start to finish.
• Processing of orders and quotes (Data input).
• Recommending customers to alternate products.
• Providing product information.
• Applying cash to orders from credit cards/cheques.
• Processing orders from our international sister companies.
• Invoice billing from our international sister companies, on behalf of the whole department.
• Dealing with shipment errors/tracking.
• Processing large and complex tenders, including London and Tehran Book Fairs.
• Liaising with Sales representatives to deal with queries and negotiate prices for customers.
• Locating proof of previous purchase for restricted titles, investigating if we are able to supply the restricted title(s) and suggesting alternatives where necessary.
• Attending Book Fairs to build relationships with key account customers.
• Processing credits and resolving account issues.
• Filing/Archiving.


Skills acquired:

The ability to build good relationships with customers as well as colleagues, to ensure we work together efficiently and effectively, resulting in successfully meeting the customer’s needs. An important skill is the ability to overcome language/culture barriers so that no misunderstandings can occur.
The ability to balance and manage my workload under pressure is a vital skill I have acquired, due to having targets to meet and a high level of customer service to provide.
The ability to adapt to new procedures on a regular basis, whilst expanding my skills within the company.

My duties included:
• Completing the process from start to finish from clients advertising order (print and media) to completion.
• Setting recruitment advertisements, public notices, tenders and public enquiries in Quark Express and VIO.
• Media research (rates, contracts if applicable, deadlines, sizes, packages, target audience, circulation)
• Typesetting the advert into appropriate template.
• Proof read advert.
• Liaising with client to ensure advert is set to their standards.
• Book space with the media.
• Negotiate discounts/upgrades with media.
• Up selling and promoting digital media.
• Confirm invoicing details and any purchase order numbers.
• Ensure all relevant booking details are put onto our system (concept)
• Attend meetings with media to negotiate contracts, discuss future business and upcoming features.
• Taking responsibility for a number of clients including commercial, education and public sector.
• Invoice queries.
• Attending client meetings.
• Attending meetings with the media.



The ability to work under pressure towards deadlines and being able to prioritize my workload whilst considering meetings, timeframes, urgency, and client requests.

Up selling and adding value, to ensure my client is getting the best exposure possible for their advertisement as well as adding to our targets. Good Interpersonal communication is a very important requirement.
