Successfully achieved at budget profit margin for the client.
Contracts Administrator for monitoring contracts, changes and claims management processes in line with Project policies and procedures ensuring cash flows are on budget.
Full responsibility for project’s variations, measurement, estimation and pricing, cost escalation, cash flow etc., and also maintenance financial reports.
Advisory to senior management on application methods, commercial entitlement, dispute resolution procedures and litigation preparations on other construction projects in ASC.
On-time main contractor interim payment application with zero penalties or cash flow delays.
Risk and cost impact analysis on project changes raised by the client and consultants.
Preparation of project main final account, subcontractors’ final accounts, claims such as extension of time claims, materials inflation, etc.
Preparation of contractual correspondences with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Advising the Commercial and Business Development Managers, I was in solely in charge of all pre- and post-contract affairs. Pre-contract works covered bidding for all tenders for new projects in MENA region. Whilst post-contract works included, but not limited to, procurement, awarding of sub-contractors, payment application to client and certification to sub-contractors, claims, variations etc.
MEENA PLAZA MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT, ABU DHABI, UAE
A subsidiary of Malaysian Zelan Berhad group (ZHSB), listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange with a strong track record in engineering and construction as well as property & development across South East Asia. Sidra Tower in Dubai was the largest overseas project with a value of $88m.
Designed by KDI Architect, the AED925m ($252m) project consisted of 4 towers sharing a 7-storey podium, the largest contract ever for ZHSB in the UAE to be completed in 30 months (delayed in 2010 due to client cash flow difficulties). Accountable directly to the Project, Commercial and Business Development Manager I had full responsibility for all pre- and post-contract issues of 10 major and all minor subcontractors.
Led direct negotiation with all subcontractors to the final agreements achieving multiple millions USD of savings from initial project budget with full authority for contractual correspondences with subcontractors and suppliers.
Full responsibility for preparation of scope for subcontractors’ tenders, evaluation and comparison of received tender offers advising senior management.
Preparation of letters of intent, of awards & sub-contract agreements.
Monitoring of all major and minor sub-contracts, scope changes and claims management.
Timely preparation of progress payment certificates to all subcontractors and suppliers until final accounts.
Achieved all targets despite the very small team size of 3 staff for large scope of the project.

Fully responsible for all subcontractor affairs, I reported directly to the Projects Director, Project Manager and Commercial Managers leading a team of two quantity surveyors. The project was the first contract ever secured by GB in the Middle East, with a total contract value of $172m and a construction period of 4 years.
Implemented efficient management of subcontractors’ accounts including valuations, variations and payments until final account at post-contract stage.
Established strong strategic alliances with subcontractors that delivered recognized results for the client.
Solely administered all sub-contracts application, changes and claims processes.
Delivered and issued multiple contractual correspondences to subcontractors and suppliers.
TAMAN BERINGIN LANDFILL RESTORATION PROJECT, KUALA LUMPUR &

Working with a Senior Contracts Executive, undertook both pre-contract and post-contract affairs and support to this project worth $6.3m on a design and build contract.

1ST SILICON WAFERFAB PROJECT, KUCHING, MALAYSIA
Responsible for both pre-contract and post-contract affairs and support to this project worth $164m on a design and build contract. Scope of works included measurement, cost plan, variations, payment certificates/ work orders to subcontractors, etc.
CONTRACTS DEPARTMENT IN HEAD OFFICE, MALAYSIA
As an IJM sponsored scholar, I successfully joined the graduate trainee programme of Malaysia’s leading construction group. Multiple rotations in the head office structuring pre-contract administration matters, eg. tender biddings in various nature of works, measurement, cost estimation, and construction software (ERP) implementation.
