• To design RTU/SCADA and Marshalling Cabinet based on Field Instrumentation IFC packages keeping in mind the Standards guidelines like Indoor/Outdoor cabinet rating, avoiding Cross-wiring of field cable at Marshalling terminals, minimum distance maintenance between AC/DC wiring, Proper To/From wire marking/Tagging, Use of approved methods & Standard practices, etc.
• Based on Field Instrumentation packages calculate IO Count requirement for RTU/PLC and necessary Signal circuit requirements (Internally/Externally Powered, 2/3-wire). SCADA/HMI Screen development based on PIDs.
• To Design Corrosion and Cathodic protection System for whole Manifa Pipelines based on Field Pipeline design requirements.
• To get design clarification through interface/Engineering meetings with other design contractors like McDermott, AMCDE/KBR, Petrocon/Worley Parsons, Bechtel, etc.
• To Work closely with work unit rate contractors like RHM, Sinopec, Petrojet, Kents, Hyundai, etc for field side Instrumentation packages .
• To Design Console for SCADA/CMS/CP Workstations and coordinate space/power/cable routing/grounding requirements to Building contractors accordingly.
• To perform Electrical calculations for 24VDC/125VDC considering Field load requirements. Using these calculations size rectifier/Battery system and necessary MCBs ratings/Panel design
• To design Shelter conduits and RTU/MB gland plate cutout design considering the Field Instrumentation/Power Cable Schedules and Routing plans.
• To Work with Civil Engineer to properly design the Shelter/RTU/Marshalling Box Foundation as applicable and also to decide correct orientation of RTU shelter & Marshalling Cabinet based on field cable route.
• To Work Closely with Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to correctly calculate the Field Power requirements and to design RTU shelter as per Standards Requirements.
• To develop IP Addressing assignment and VLANs creation based on upstream data network privileges and requirements.
• To have technical discussion with Aramco/Client Engineers, Engineers of GES (Design Company) and Engineers of subcontractors/Vendors in order to verify the accuracy of the design. Emerson RTU (Bristol Babcock ControlWave) and SCADA (Open Enterprise) was selected for Manifa Project. The Manifa project has 65 onshore RTUs and 37 Offshore RTUs.
• To work with with Aramco I-Field department to incorporate I-Field Data Acquisition and Delivery Requirements and conduct IFAT (Integrated-FAT, Staging Area) with all I-Field devices like PDHMS, MPFM, ESP, Etc.
• To get Aramco and P&CSD Design approval through 50%(NMR601), 90%(NMR602), 100% (IFC) Saudi Aramco e-Review system and finally to prepare redlines and As-Built Packages.
• To monitor material procurement Quantity and Quality.
• To Work closely with field Instruments vendors for Switchgear, ultrasonic flow meters, MOV/CV and miscellaneous vendors to properly meet their requirements.
• To Work with Corrosion Monitoring (Cosasco/Corrpro), Cathodic protection Commissioning team during Commissioning activities.
• To Perform RTU/SCADA Interface Testing with field instrumentation vendors like Schumberger, Roxar, Baker Hughes, Al-Korayef, Halliburton, Welldynamics, ACES, Allen Bradley, ABB, Rousemount, Yokogawa, Honeywell etc.
• To perform OPC interface between SCADA OPC Server/Client and various third party OPC interfaces like CMS, CP, DCS, DAHS(PI), OSPAS, ESD, etc
• To work closely with Site Safety officer, Work permit issuer to carryout site activities. I am Aramco approved Work permit receiver for hot, cold and confined Space entry works.
• To prepare interface drawings highlighting interface with other contractors and mutually agree on time scale of these activities. To follow-up with contractors to meet the agreed time frame.
• To conduct the testing and commissioning of each system which includes FAT, Pre-Commissioning (PMCC), Commissioning(MCC) and SAT acceptance.
• Preparation of presentation and Quotation with necessary technical Information.
• Work closely with sales engineer and during project bidding stage.
• Preparation of Basic Design Package Submittal.
• Control Panel Electrical load, Heat load, power consumption calculations.
• calculating the I/O count and Designing control panel modular layout.
• Implementing Different Industrial Protocols/Networks.
• PLC, I/O modules, Network Interfacing (card/modules/Cables) selection.
• Preparation of Instruments Tag list, Junction box schedule, Cable Schedule, Cable sizing & selection, Wiring Diagram, Hookup drawing, Alarm list etc.
• Design of PLC control panel with necessary safety precautions (Relays, Fuses, MCB, MCCB, Surge suppressor, etc).
• PLC control panel testing, wire loop testing, Redundancy checks, modules integrity checks, other checks.
• Generating necessary AutoCAD drawings.
• Generating FAT & SAT Procedures.
• Procurement of necessary Instruments/Material.
• Field Instruments (transmitters, sensors, motors, analyzers, detectors, etc) selection based on Ratings and working conditions.
• Erection of various field instruments. Cable laying and termination.
• Developing Plant safety interlocks.
• Executing Field Instruments Installation and calibration using Universal Calibrator/ HART communicator.
• Dynamic PID Controller Tuning.
• Project planning and management of resources.
• Attending meetings with customer and generating weekly progress report.
