The Sharjah Children's Centers is an entity that provides extracurricular activities to children aged 6-12 years old with the aim of augmenting their life skills and developing their talents besides school academic learning. The Mughaider Art Center is a pilot project that develops children artistic talents in several mediums such as painting, pottery, photography, wearable arts, graphic design and culinary arts. As the first Art Director and Head of the Art Center, tasks included:
- Prepare the Arts Development Strategy, annual plan and specific programs for both Mughaider and non-specialized centers (14 centers), in coordination with the SCC Director.
- Recruit and train Arts Coordinators for the Center as well as engage with and outsource entities capable of delivering like-minded progressive programs specially tailored for children.
- Attract children to enroll in the Center and provide mechanisms to identify talented artists and create Personal Development Plans to enhance their capabilities.
- Participate in global and local competitions and exhibitions with children's artwork developed at the Centers as well as create events that promote the artwork of SCC children.
- Develop the international database and communication strategy (including travel) ahead of the annual Sharjah Children's Art Biennial, as well as be the team-leader for the actual event.
- General administrative tasks related to the running of the Mughaider Center, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, budgeting & finance, procurement, health & Safety, facilities maintenance, transportation, etc.
