Project Management of the expansion of the UAE Military Presidential Guard training capabilities, including the expansion of training facilities and operations and maintenance. Responsibilities include:

- Management of the schedule for the implementation of an additional 25 training sites, including ongoing O&M activities, and ensuring no impact on current client training requirements.

- Oversight of all project risk, creating of mitigation strategies and ensuring the implementation of all strategies by assigned risk owners.

- Creation and implementation of all communication and document management processes for a project involving interaction of over 50 project members.

Commercial Manager for the Design & Planning division of the UAE region. Responsibilities include:

• Accountability for the financial performance of the division, comprising of over 30 international design projects with a forecast revenue of AED 100M.

• Reviewer of all project contracts over AED 6M, ensuring risk minimisation for the division, and adherence to overall company contractual policies.

• Representation of the division to regional leadership including production of progress reports and ensuring performance targets are achieved.

• Management of all major project contracts ensuring completion of all scope of works as well as identification and management of change.

• Client dispute resolution, for any outstanding payments of over AED 2M, including disputes over payment and scope ambiguity.

Achievements:

• Resolution of payment dispute, increasing the received revenue from a previous offer of AED 300, 000 to AED 2.4M.

• Implementation of a 3 month look ahead resourcing plan based on project deployments. This improved resource utilisation significantly by identifying areas of employee over/under utilisation and restructuring project teams in a more efficient manner.

• Improved financial reporting for the division by 80% through the establishment and management of effective project tracking systems and regular communication with project leads.

• Increased profits by 20 % for 3 major projects in the division. This was achieved by identifying cost savings in scope internalisation, project control measures, pursuit of variation works, and biweekly project cost performance reviews.

• Implementation and management of internal and external project communications on a project involving 15 offices worldwide.

• Management of all deliverable submissions comprising of over 40, 000 documents.

• Ownership of a 24 month multi-disciplinary project schedule, including monitoring of project progress and the implementation of mitigation and resolution strategies as required.

• Creation and implementation of all project management tools including change management, risk management and project organisation.

Achievements:

• Pioneer and implementer of Earned Value principles on to the project, highlighting and resolving any areas of inadequate design progression.

• Introduction and management of numerous business solutions, including Aconex and Project Wise, achieving effective communication between geographies throughout the project.

• Through the use of Primavera P6, created an effective programme, identifying and mitigating against schedule concerns, leading to the project meeting all challenging submission dates.

• Management of 7 contractor works on the project including inspections, invoicing, contract reviews and ensuring adherence to scope.

• Interface between the Client and the contractors to ensure all client requirements were met in a timely and effective manner.

• Contract management for FF&E, Gym equipment and audio visual systems amongst others.

Achievements:

• By utilising MS Project, created individual programmes for each contract, which integrated with the overall master project programme, to ensure all contracts were delivered on time.

• Creation and management of effective quality management protocols to ensure a defect rate of fewer than 5% for all contractual products and services.

• Establishment and management of procurement and logistics support required for the projects.

• Bid Manager for all future works for the division. With an average monthly portfolio of $5M.

• Liaison between site teams based in Afghanistan and Iraq, and project management and support teams in the UK.

Achievements:

• Through regular visits and interaction with project site teams, established a SharePoint system for all project communication and document transfer.

• By running structured kick off meetings where clear responsibilities and deadline were established, and by introducing mandatory lessons learnt reviews, was successful in capturing multiple awards, with the largest being for over $9M.

• Utilised MS Project to plan for all projects under the discipline, which not only ensured the individual projects met all deadlines, but also ensured the division had all necessary resources at any point in time.
