General Duties concerned with both expat and local staff:
• Provides insight to the top management on setting and updating all HR policies and procedures.
• Develop and update the organization chart and salary structure.
• Write job descriptions
• Man power planning, and recruitment plan
• Prepare and send job offer letters as per the organization salary structure and policies.
• Leading all internal communication emails and projects.
Duties concerned with expat staff only:
• Contribution in the Recruitment of expat English Teachers.
• Responsible for all internal communication with all staff.
• Planning and organizing the onboarding and orientation sessions.
• Preparing for the work permits procedures and documents with the new staff and the legal Department.
• Choosing the health insurance provider for the local and international plans, then liaise between the company and the school.
• Leading the monthly payroll for all expat staff based on percentage and rate of exchange.
• Leading the staff welfare committee
• Organize professional development events.
• Revising and updating expats contracts.
Duties concerned with the local staff:
• Leading the contracts cycle with the ministry of education, and also all social insurance issues.
• Leading the interviewing process.
• Working closely with Departments heads on Performance evaluations.
Organization structure:
• Developing and updating job descriptions.
• Working on the organization hierarchy and identifying reporting lines.
• Leading job evaluation workshops with the high management, utilizing Mercer and Hay grading structure.
Manpower planning and recruitment:
• Working closely with Department heads to plan for all recruitment needs for blue collars (Drivers, cleaners, KG and bus monitors, security and maintenance), and also white collars (Teacher assistants, Arabic teachers, Admission officers, operations team…etc)
• Plan for the recruitment channels and employment fairs.
• Setting recruitment and selection process based on job descriptions.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Create a salary scheme based on the organization structure and leveling system.
• Create the benefits package.
• Meet with health insurance providers, and lease between the provider and the employees.
Performance management:
• Developing a 360 degree evaluation model, ensuring compliance.
• Accountable for the Periodical performance review meetings.
Training and Development:
• Identifying the TNA (Training needs analysis) with all managers for all employees based on performance measures.
• Designing trainings.
• Coaching and presenting soft skills trainings.
• Key note speaker in major business meetings to reflect on the key communication message.
• Evaluating training providers and consultants and choosing the best workshops and trainings outlines.
• Systems & internal communication:
• Developing and maintaining employee handbook with updated systems, rules and regulation
• Creating systems for better efficiency.
• Internal communication projects to assure consistency and connectivity.
Since September 2014: I have been working on expatriate teachers’ files and also planned for and attended TORF, Kingston, Canada and Search Associates, Toronto, Canada Recruitment fairs.
Organization Effectiveness
• Owns the Organizational Health Survey project and develop action plans accordingly.
• Man power planning according to productivity measures.
• conduct meetings to explain the roles of employees and supervisors in the successful operation of the performance appraisal system
Internal Communication
• Lead change ensuring employees are fully aware and engaged with change identifying the “what’s in it for me” factor to ensure smooth transition
• Responsible for all internal communication projects, from the message, to the channel, to the evaluation of the process.
• Manage the HR communication part of the yearly business review meeting.
• Responsible for HR Projects related to engagement of employees, company culture...etc
Recruitment
• Directs the processing and entry of all personnel actions including induction manual, merit increases, promotions, transfers…etc
• Interview senior positions applicants.
• Supervise the Recruitment team and employment fairs
Compensation and benefits
• Writing job descriptions and conducting job evaluations via Mercer and Hay evaluation systems to base on it the salary survey.
• Working closely with compensation and benefits consultants for salary surveys and organization structure projects.
Training and Development
• Manage Performance Appraisal Cycle, Development Plans, and Succession Planning.
• Advice and coach managers and supervisors in the areas of organization work and team management (managing high performer/under performers, performance appraisal, development and career planning, employee communication, employee relations, grievances and disciplinary actions).
• Ensuring that TNA “Training Needs Analysis” is based n the job descriptions and employees appraisal reports.
Leading a long term Talent Management project with Mars, acting as an external Co. project Leader.
This was a two month project that i held with Mrs. Ghaydaa El Fakahany (HR Manager at Juhayna) to fill the vacancies of 10 positions in the Sales Department.
This was one of the most fruitful experience that i got exposed to, in my life. It was the academic base of my HR experience.
