Principal Accountabilities:
➢ Propose annual plan and associated budget for select portfolio, monitor performance against this, initiating corrective action when necessary to ensure operations are conducted within the agreed financial parameters.
➢ Receive, review and approve order requisitions based on forecasted sales. Ensure the category coordinator processes the order within the stipulated time frame.
➢ Initiate discussion with suppliers regarding new product launches, the minimum stocks expected to be purchased by Al Tayer Trends, back up plans, margins, cost sharing, co- advertising, and exclusive rights for Al Tayer Trends, etc., to enable all concerned to take a clear and well informed decision on inducting the new product/ brand in to Al Tayer Trends.
➢ Monitor stock levels of all the products to ensure optimal availability and timely replenishment in the stores. Encourage where possible redistribution and transfers of stock.
➢ Draw up action plans, after studying the sales turnover of poorly performing brands and /or left over stocks at the end of a season for liquidating/ disposing off the stocks and /or to discontinue representing the poorly performing brands in Al Tayer Trends outlets / counters.
➢ Conduct regular warehouse visits to assess the current stocking situation and highlight any issues for suitable resolution.
➢ Negotiate with suppliers on product pricing, payment terms, cost of freight, provision of training, and the extent of their involvement in advertising and promotions, to decide on placing a purchase order with the supplier for the concerned product/ brand.
➢ Provide relevant information on price, margin, and supplier information to ensure timely & accurate updating of JDE system.
➢ Compile new launches calendar, participate in strategy meetings and circulate the information to the internal departments for consistent understanding.
➢ Support the promotional activities in the store and ensure the merchandise is available in time and in right quantities. Receive and analyze reports on the activities and provide recommendations when required.
➢ Communicate the merchandising guidelines to the stores and conduct visits to ensure products are displayed as per the guidelines.

➢ Viability of business plans formulated and the accuracy of forecast for quantities required. Successful negotiations with suppliers which resulted to a higher margin/discount.
