Manage/Lead the Architectural Technical Department, and manage all the firm’s BIM related aspects.
BIM Management Role:
• Establish the BIM strategy and implementation procedures.
• Set the BIM execution plan, and monitor the BIM implementation during the projects development.
• Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place.
• Identify and control the BIM scopes and set priorities for the BIM related tasks.
• Create files management and archiving system to be used by all departments.
• Create project templates and drafting standards to be used by all team members.
• Identify and control the design BIM data with required Level of Development (LOD) at each design stage.
• Provide the minimum BIM requirements for each project discipline.
• Guide the team through the development, implementation stages and review the completed work.
• Managing the Electronic Content Management (ECM) system to ensure Common Data Environment (CDE) as per the BIM Standards (ISO19650, BS1192, PAS1192).
Technical Team Management Roles and Responsibilities:
• Production, completion and issuing of design development, tender and construction documents for all projects.
• Define the project’s requirements and identify the action plan with detailed milestones to complete the work.
• Allocate and manage all projects resources including assigning their tasks and managing their time.
• Determine the delivery dates within project deadlines, and report the project work progress to the top management.
• Provide technical feedback on concept designs received from the design team.
• Check the project cost against project budget, and provide alternatives to control any cost increase.
• Revise all the architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and lead the coordination process.
• Report and address any design issues or technical conflicts.
• Manage the exporting and plotting process of all official submissions.
• Handover and Manage the submission of all projects and insure the project archiving process.
The firm BIM Manager leading the BIM Unit, the focal point for all BIM activities for the entire company.
• Develop, organize and manage BIM implantation tasks for projects.
• Ensures the BIM process serves the engineering and business requirement during the design phase.
• Study and discuss the client’s BIM projects requirements.
• Assist in preparing BIM projects proposals and review the BIM related contractual agreements.
• Identify and control the BIM scopes and set priorities for the BIM related tasks.
• Prepare BIM Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for the BIM/Revit models, drawings, and data to ensure that final deliverable are compatible, consistent and accurate and all BIM/Engineering processes are compliant with standards.
• Identify and control the design BIM data with the correct Level of Development (LOD) at each design stage.
• Provide the minimum BIM requirements for each project discipline.
• Identify and define the BIM organization and roles and responsibilities and Coordinate schedule and workloads for the project’s team.
• Identify the communication channels and data sharing procedures.
• Monitor and Control the archiving of projects records.
• Managing the Electronic Content Management (ECM) system to ensure Common Data Environment (CDE) as per the British BIM Standards (BS1192).
• Lead and follow up with the projects technical coordinators to ensure that the coordination process is being performed as per BIM standards and resolving all the conflicts between the different project disciplines.
• Conduct 3D Coordination and prepare clash detection reports to be shared and discussed during the BIM coordination meetings and considered in the BIM/Revit models.
• Manage the Quantification extraction from BIM/Revit models.
• Review and validate the BIM projects deliverables.
• Prepare project templates, and monitor conformance of Revit production to BIM/CAD standards.
• Prepare and develop BIM Projects Execution Plan, BIM/Revit modeling plan, Level of Development (LOD) Tables, clash detection matrix, and all BIM related documents.
A team member at the BIM Unit, responsible for setting up and directing BIM strategies for the entire firm.
• Develop, organize and manage BIM implantation tasks for projects.
• Participate in the design development, 3D modeling, content creation (Revit Families), coordinating and sheet production for BIM projects.
• Conduct interdepartmental technical coordination; concerning project BIM scope.
• Conduct 3D Coordination and prepare clash detection reports to be shared and discussed during the BIM coordination meetings and considered in the BIM models.
• Manage the Quantification extraction from BIM models.
• Provide and manage 4D & 5D BIM models.
• Monitor and control the BIM project quality and perform QA/QC plan for BIM models.
• Prepare and develop BIM Execution Plan, BIM modeling plan, LOD Table, clash detection matrix, and all BIM related documents.
• Prepare project templates, and monitor conformance of Revit production to BIM/CAD standards.
• Collaborate in creating DAR BIM Standards, Manuals, and Protocols.
• Prepare and Conduct training session for production teams, and work closely with them advise them on constructability.
• Troubleshoot software issues and provide best practice and workarounds for software limitations.
