Main duties and responsibilities:
- Using a range of software; techniques and equipment to carry out the analysis.
- Analysing and interpreting data.
- Making sure that data is accurately recorded in accordance to guidelines.
- Reporting/presenting results. Writing reports; reviews and summaries.
- Ensuring that health and safety issues are adhered to.
- Preparing product licence documentation.
- Liaising with customers; suppliers.
- Methanol product and in-process testing include the analysis by GC, pH, Purity of Methanol, odor, Color Index APHA, Moisture content, Dry residue, Iron content, Distillation at 760mm Hg, Initial Boiling Point, Carbonizable Substances, Total Iron, Acidity as Acetic Acid, Specific Gravity@20°/20°, Permanganate Test Time at 15°C, Appearance).
- Natural gas (Methane, Ethane, Propane, I-Butane, N-Butane, I-Pentane, N-Pentane, N-Hexane, Nitrogen, CO2, H2, sp.gr, Total Sulphur, LCV.
- Flue gas composition for O2, N2, CO, CO2
- Gas Analysis (Components of Reformer Gas, Reactor Gases, High purity CO analysis).
- De-mineralized water Analysis for the parameters pH, TDS, Conductivity and Silica Content.
- Cooling water-pH, TDS, Conductivity, Hardness, Total Alkalinity, Free Chlorine, Chloride, Molybdate.
- Boiler water-TDS, Conductivity, Silica, Phosphate, Hydrazine, Carbohydrazide.
- Analysis of waste water-Components by GC, pH, TDS, Conductivity, TAN, TOC.
- Methyl Amines analysis-Component Analysis by GC crude and pure MMA, DMA, and TMA.
- Dimethyl formamide analysis-Component Analysis by GC of crude and pure DMF, Moisture content, pH, acidity, alkalinity, Conductivity.
Instrument Coverage
- GC-System (Agilent technologies 7890 A with TCD, FID, NPD, PFPD & SCD Detectors.
- Ion Chromatography (Dionex ICS 3000), Atomic Absorption Spectrometer(AAS 700), UV-VIS Spectrometer ( Perkin Elmer Lambda 25, DR 2800 HACH, Karl Fisher Titrator (Mettler Toledo DL 38, Metrohm-888), Coulometry Lovibond PFX195 Tintometer, Shaw Dew Point Meter, Portable Combustion Gas Analyzer.
