*Analyzes practice and scope of services in the general and specialty settings of the Pharmacy Department in order to develop outcome measures, set standards of care and practice, and identify critical indicators for each clinical area, in collaboration with clinical and administrative staff at all levels
*Plans and conducts educational programs related to quality for the Pharmacy
Department staff at all levels.
*Meets and collaborates with department heads and other officials as necessary to communicate information regarding quality and coordinate inter-departmental activities.

*Evaluates drug therapy orders for appropriateness of dosage, route, interval, schedule and duration throughout each patient’s hospital course. Intervening appropriately by direct communication with the physician when necessary.
*Identifies clinically relevant drug interaction involving food, laboratory values, drugs, disease states and communicates to health care practitioner’s recommendations for therapeutic alternatives.
*Suggests appropriate therapeutic alternatives for Non-Formulary drugs.
*Assures compliance with adverse drug reaction reporting programs or medication error reporting programs.
*Provides drug education and counsels patients on appropriate drug use and storage.
