Environment - Support of 150 applications databases on various environments. The SQL versions used are SQL 2000, SQL 2005, SQL 2008, SQL 2008 R2 and 2012. Out of 50 production servers, 35 servers are in VMware environment. SQL Server clustering and SAN level replications are key technologies implemented for high availability solution.
Roles:
• Installation, Administration of SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and SQL 2012
• Involved in live data center movement from one place to other place(3 month project)
• Upgrading SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 R2/SQL 2012(In-Place upgrade / Side by side upgrade) and SQL 2005 to SQL 2008.
• Having good experience in Installing, Monitoring and Troubleshooting SQL Cluster, Mirroring, Log Shipping.
• Implementing Database maintenance plan for Database consistence & Integrity.
• Shrinking the Data files and log files if more free space is available.
• Creating the Jobs using maintenance Plans for Full, Differential and transactional log backups.
• Managing SQL Server Logins, Database users and user permissions.
• Developing the successful Backup strategies based on Recovery models.
• Recovery of Database at the time of Database crashes or data loss.
• Raising the change management request and following up with the customer approval, for making any changes in the production server
• Performing SQL Server database performance analysis and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.

• Setup profiler traces for slow running queries & analyze load file thru query
tuning wizard.
