The AutoCity (ICAD V) project site is located in Abu Dhabi in the area south of Mussaffah, west of E20 and north of E11 highways. The AutoCity (ICAD V) site is just south of other ICAD developments namely ICAD I, II, III and IV. The AutoCity (ICAD V) site is about 13, 722, 004 square meters in area. The proposed AutoCity (ICAD V) Development is divided into 3-Zoing sectors namely; Zone 1-Commercial Zone, Zone 2-Workshop/Heavy Vehicle and Zone 3-Light Industries.
Responsibilities:
The task is to manage the design team to deliver the full detail design for the Infrastructure Consultancy Services including the roadways, fire fighting, irrigation, storm water drainage, foul sewage, and street lighting as well as the electro-mechanical works at the following five stages of the project:
• Review of Supplied Data
• Design Basis
• Preliminary Design
• Detail Design
• Preparation of the Tender Documents (Drawings, Specs and BoQ’s)
The task also included preparation of comprehensive Construction Phasing Plan (CPP) for the 3 phases up to year 2026; part of the CPP is to prepare the advanced site grading package Tender Documents which was released by the end of year 2012.

Boubyan Seaport Redesign, Kuwait (March 2011 - Date)

Boubyan Seaport concept design included development of a sea port and related channel for navigation. I was responsible for advising the Employer on various requests for clarification from the Contractor on the design, which included queries related to design of quay wall, reclamation material, use of dredged material, etc on a required basis.
Um Al Aish LPG Filling Plant, Kuwait (Mar 2009- Oct 2012)

The Um Al Aish Liquefied Petroleum Gas filling (bottling) plant is being constructed by Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) to cater for the LPG needs of the growing population of Kuwait.
The site is designed to process LPG, which will be delivered by road tankers or other means from the refinery or other source and transferred into mounded LPG storage vessels (6 nos). The LPG will be pumped from the storage tanks to the main filling hall, private filling hall, or loaded into the road tankers.
Responsibilities:
The task was to finalize the concept report and deliver the tender documents for a Design & Build Contract. This was followed by supervision of the engineering design which includes approvals. The design supervision included elements like process engineering, instrumentation, fire fighting, storm water drainage, buildings, electro mechanical services, and telecommunication. Other responsibilities were:
• Issuance of the tender documents
• Tender Evaluation and Award
• Issuance of Contract documents.
• Supervision of design including approvals.
• Part of the team responsible for approving vendors for the project
• Setting up of the Site supervision team
• Managing two of the main sub consultants- Ingas, France (LPG specialists) & Gulf Consult, Kuwait (civil and electro-mechanical).
• Responsible for the project finance
• Updating client on the progress of the project on a regular basis.
• Meeting with Contractor on design related issues
• Meeting with Contractor and local authorities on the approvals and permits.
• Attended Design meetings in France, UK and Seoul.
• Meetings with Contractor and Client on variations to the project, its cost implication etc.
• Attended HAZOP workshops
• Design support for the site activities.

Waterfront - Madinat Al Arab, Dubai (Feb 2007- Mar 2009)
(Seconded to the Client (Nakheel) as Engineering Data Integrity Manager)
Responsibilities:
As part of the Approvals Team responsible for this major project, I was tasked with ensuring that Third Party Developers’ (TPDs) conform to the Development Control Regulations (DCRs) and other relevant legislation especially on the marine developments.
My specific responsibilities included managing numerous case planning applications for properties on waterfront plots, islands and beaches; negotiating with agents/developers, resolving problems, making informed recommendations, drafting and discharging conditions; writing delegated and Development Review Board (DRB) reports for planning applications; answering developer enquiries relating to procedures and the planning framework and legislation; undertaking site visits; assisting the Chief Planning Officer.
In addition to these, I was responsible for managing all the engineering and planning data required for the TPD’s. This included discussions, design review of canal works, quay wall design, involved in masterplanning of waterfront properties, beaches and isalnds, problem solving, drafting policies and conditions to the TPD’s request (such as fixing the hoarding, surveys and investigations, shoring and ground anchors, house connections, construction drawings, load calculations etc). I was also involved in the coordination with the various Development teams to ensure that the TPD was provided with accurate engineering information.
Also, I was tasked with assisting in the implementation of the ‘Planning Pathfinder’ Project, which aims to achieve a more robust and consistent, fit for purpose planning system at Waterfront through the creation of policies, procedures and working practices for the Approvals Team.
Masterplanning of Lulu Island, Abu Dhabi (June 2006 - Dec 2006)
Project Engineer
Lulu Island is an inhabited, man-made island, situated in the Arabian Gulf immediately to the North of Abu Dhabi City. Sorouh Real Estate PJSC were seeking to develop the island itself and several smaller reclaimed islands for mixed residential use and commercial properties.
Responsibilities:
• Design manager/Project Engineer for the marine works concept design.
• Concept included
o Breakwaters
o quay walls

o marinas and berthing
o marine based transport system
• Supporting the masterplanners in marine aspects.

Boubyan Seaport Concept Design, Kuwait (Dec 2005 - May 2006)
Project Coordinator
Boubyan Seaport concept design included development of a sea port, related channel for navigation, and onshore connection from main land by rail and road.
Responsibilities:
• Concept design included port, dredge channel, wave study, numerical modelling.
• Coordination of above concept design with rail and road concept for the island.
• Liaison Engineer with the Ministries of Kuwait and the Client.
• Coordination with sub consultants - HR Wallingford, Eagle Lyon Pope, Drewry Shipping Consultants, and Gulf Consult.
• Coordinating the inputs of an international team and preparation of documents and drawings for all the three stages of the concept design.

Failaka Island Design Competition, Kuwait (April 2006 - May 2006)
• Part of the Management Team responsible for the development of design competition submission.
• Responsible for compiling the marine scope from the internal team and coordinating with the consortium for the final report.
• Assisted on the Environmental survey for the island.
• Responsible for mobilization and coordination of resources for the project centered at Kuwait.
Jumeirah Open Beach Coastline Management Scheme, Dubai (2004 - 2006)
• Liaison Engineer with the utility department of the Dubai Municipality, the contractor and client.
