The Health Medical Services is a Provision of Health licensed by Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) in order to carry out and provide quality services. The Home Care Program is design to restore the highest possible function and quality of life to patients who have chronic conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Obtain and Records patients vital signs and records in a chart.
• Assist the patient in performing simple range of motion exercises to maintain muscle strength as specified by a Physiotherapist
• Assist the patient with activities of daily living
• Transporting of patients to hospital as needed
• Responsible for a holistic health teaching to patients families.
• Responsible for administering oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections
• Knowledgeable in inserting intravenous access and collecting blood and urine specimens.
• Changing and Care of contraptions like Nasogastric Tube, Foley Catheter, Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube and Tracheostomy using aseptic technique.
• Nursing care for chronically ill patients such as but not limited to post stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Cerebral Palsy patients, Post traumatic accident patients suffering from spinal cord injuries. And medical conditions like Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Heart diseases & Chronic Respiratory Ilneses and Kidney Failure.
• Specializes in wound care using the vacuum assisted closure technique.
• Handles and Operate medical equipment such as pulse oximeter, nebulizer, oxygen therapy, feeding and infusions pump, glucometer, suction machine & cardiac monitor.

I.Administrative Information:
Reports to: Nursing Supervisor/ Head Nurse/ Chief Nurse
Supervises: Staff Nurse, Nursing Assistants, UAP, Midwifery Staff
II.General description of the Job:
A General Nursing Unit Staff Nurse is one who is responsible for the over all nursing care management of patients admitted to the unit. She directs and supervises Nursing Assistants who are involved in the care of the patient
III.Job Activities ( Essential Duties of the Job):
III a. Prepares Nursing Care Plan
Identifies patient needs and problems through proper assessment. ( history taking, interview, PE, etc) and prioritize them
Prepares the nursing care assignment in accordance with the education, experience, and capabilities of the individual team members
Coordinates with the Clinical instructors the assignment of Nursing and Midwifery students
Substitute as Charge Nurse when so assigned. Carries out Implements Nursing Care Plan properly
III b. Establisher
Informs the Attending Physician, Residents/ Interns in- charge of patient admission and other referrals.
Make rounds with the Attending Physician to familiarize himself/ herself with the patient’s problems and the plan of Management.
Carries out written orders of Physician.
Assists the Physician in performing certain bedside procedures such as thoracentesis, lumbar tap, chemotherapy, and paracentesis.
Coordinates with the members of the Nursing Staff the monitoring and accurate recording of IVF infusions, blood transfusions, I & O and vital signs.
Prepares and organizes supplies and equipment
Administer both oral and parenteral medications with corresponding documentation
Checks for completeness of E-Cart contents during her shift and reports to Head Nurse any deficiencies or discrepancies.
